There have been numerous arguments and debates with regards to why women donot partake in casual sex as often as men do. A lot of the debates have revolved around the idea that women are not "biologically wired" and thus do not enjoy sex as often as men do.
I like to think that women enjoy sex as often as men do. Taking the argument that women have less "casual sex" because we are biologically wired to do so is somehow a false statement. Women have less casual sex than men for the simple reason that no one woman wants to sleep with a man only to be slut shamed the following morning.
It is because men in general cannot handle sexual autonomy with women but still want to sleep with them. It is because a man will spend hours, or days, or however long chasing after a woman who he will later slut shame when he is with his friends.
It is because women's bodies do not belong to them, rather they belong to our father's, our brothers, our husbands, and they measure our value as human beings, our worth. They measure how "unclean" a woman can be should she allow herself the pleasure of sex, and yet they eventually end up sleeping with women they slut shame.
Saying that it is in women's nature not to like sex is an incorrect statement based on the fact that there is no "nature" of women but rather there is the "nurture" of women, the socialization process that teaches them to be inferior beings, that deprives them of ownership of their bodies and tells them that it is only sluts and prostitutes that enjoy sex, all other sexual pleasures belong to men.
Would women like to have casual sex? I'd like to think so. I'd like to think that women think of sex as much as men think about sex. But their fear of being slut shamed and shunned is much greater than their desires.
