How does Kenya's imports from Zambia moving through Tz make Tz superior in any way? If Tanzania imported stuff from Ethiopia or Eritrea, would it not pass through Kenya? Would that be enough proof that Kenya is the power house of East Africa? Look at it this way, if Tanzania was the poorest country in the world with no influence in East Africa, the maize would still move through Tanzania. Would that suddenly make Tanzania the superpower of East Africa? Check your logic.

2. MK254 has been asking you guys to learn to separate business from politics but you never learn. Dude, politics is politics and business is business. Business is done with a party that ensures the best returns and is never about Magufuli being a friend to Edgar Lungu. It is extremely absurd and stupid to think Zambia would let their maize rot in Silos or sell it cheaply to Tz when they have a lucrative market in Kenya just because Magufuli doesn't like Uhuru and wants Lungu to hate him too. Remember your president has been trying his best to ban exportation of agricultural products from northern Tanzania to Kenya but somehow your traders still manage to smuggle it out. Go ahead and refuse to allow the cargo to pass thru your land, someway somehow the maize will still arrive in Kenya. The cost of conveyance other than thru Tz would not be too great that it would bankrupt the country.

How much does it cost to import maize from Brazil? How much would it cost to pass the maize via Zimbabwe, thru SA and lload it into ships at Durban? It can be done!

Admittedly, thru Tz is the easier and cheaper option, Kenya would wish to reduce the cost+ the logistics, but when it'll come to the crunch, well, we will take the harder options.

You still have to use Tanzania vessels in the lake Nyasa to cross to Mozambique. Don't try to undo what God has created, Tanzania is the center of gravity.

I do not believe that all the steamers in lake Malawi belong to Tanzania, unless u furnish us with the evidence. But like I have stated above, when it comes to the crunch, we will go for the harder options. Some way, some how the cargo will get consigned to Kenya, Tanzania's frustrations and chest- thumping not withstanding.

The same mistake Kenya did forty years ago, your doing today. You abounding geopolitics to financial muscle, but today you can't use that money to command the consignment of maize from Zambia to Kenya without going down on your knee's and beg Tanzania to open up her borders. The same happing to Japan with all the money they've got, they can't defend themselves from North Korea threat's. All this is because they abandoned there military power after been arm twisted by the Americans.

The funny thing is, just little over a month ago Kenya was still getting her supply of maize from Tanzania, what happen since then, how come Tanzania changed her mind? why Tanzanian borders are virtually shut? Did Kenya do anything?

And you think Edgar Lungu will want to piss off Tanzania just to do business with Kenya while he knows why Kenya has approached Zambia in the first place. If the consigment was to pass via Malawi n Mozambique still u would have used our three ships across Lake Nyasa before using the railway across insecurity unstable Northern Mozambique to Nacala.
