7,000 book Kenya Airways flights to the US

7,000 book Kenya Airways flights to the US

That for one long year, Oct 2018 to Oct 2019. Remember, this is daily flight. If you go by your math you'll realise some flight they've 0 zero booking so far.

You clearly don't know how flights operate. Have you ever flown?

This is an inaugural flight and nowhere has it been stated that that's the number for the whole year. This is your own assumption.

The numbers will only pick up from here

Weezer - Africa
Originally by "Toto"

[Verse 1]
I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say
"Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"

[Chorus]
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never have

[Verse 2]
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside
Frightened of this thing that I've become

[Chorus]
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never have

[Bridge]
Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you

[Chorus]
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never have

7000÷(0.8×250)= 35 days booked. Not bad but considering its a new route and its a high season Oct-Dec for tourism. The low season will determine the actual viability of the route

Huu mzizi utakatwa pale tu KQ wataweka real figures of booking per flight. Sasa hivi wana sema tu 80% Mara 7000, but habari kamaili booking is not what they expected. Halafu KQ wanajaribu to push this flight on shoestring, hakuna advertisement ya maana to alert American PX's.

35 days booked for the last quarter of the year (90 days) is bad considering its the high season. Quarter 1,2,3 of 2019 will surely do damage to the route unless something like a miracle happens..Wait and see

I'll give the benefit of doubt, maybe you haven't read the main post correctly. Pls read it again. And there is not aircraft in the world which can carry 7000px at one go.

When these people see 7000 figure, they get confused and think its a booming business..
The route has shown business potential of only 33%..66% is empty seats

Very true, I truly wish them to well, lakini itabidi wabadili kidogo their plan and put a little bit more money into this route. Wakumbuke wanashidana na KLM, Air France, British Airway's and all those Arabic airlines. It wont be a walk in the park..

You can always learn something on JF.
Yap, even the 7000 figure we are not told if its 1 way or return flight booking..and to add to that, KQ will be code sharing with Delta Airlines..thats why 33% booking is a joke and a miracle is required

“To date we have over 7,000 bookings for the New York route with expected cabin factor of above 80 per cent for the inaugural flight. We are entering the booking window and expect to take off with a much higher occupancy,”

The word expected tells you is not a done deal. Ukiangalia vizuri, 7000 booking for one year, ina maana flights zingine zina booking mbili au tatu tu.
This is the reason I advise people from countries with no tangible aviation industry to desist from commenting on matters aviation.

I have answered this Question in to so many people..How is it relavant? I am patriotic to kenya not patriotic to the fake corrupt tribal kenya that Jubilee have tried to tell us is kenya..
You will be suprised at how many Tznians would not want to be even associated with kikwete's corrupt version of Tanzania..
You are Geza Ulole

This is "Two cent short for a dollar" comment.
I remember a time when you argued here so vigorously claiming a KQ 777 Boeing was actually a Boeing 737. You came fire blazing claiming you're an expert in aviation matters and even zoomed non-existent 'fine details of the nose' that nobody else could see just to prove your point and went ahead and bragged how you've used all those planes for decades and can tell which is which from a distance. I waited for you to make a complete fool of yourself before I schooled you that the 777 has three pairs of wheels on each of the hind landing gear like the KQ plane in question while 737 has only two pairs. You ran off like a dog with its tail between its legs and never commented on the thread again. Since that day, I've seen you make many ignorant comments on aviation here and I've concluded 3 things.

1. You know nothing about aviation.

2. You'll speak like you're the expert even when you have no tangible knowledge on a topic. You'll speak speak as if you have first hand knowledge even when you know nothing.

3. Generally Tanzanians lag behind on aviation knowledge. That's what you get for failing to maintain a national airline. In Kenya, even kids in remote primary schools will at some point visit an airport and learn one or two things hence pick an interest in aviation. In Tanzania, that's non-existent.
