today i finally nabbed yahyasat using a 1.8 prime focus and a discovery lnb it was raining so i had to abort the job next assignment is the elusive parksat and also some things arent clear why is it i get yahyasat clear which footprint is far from me yet i cant properly lock on 60e and 62e respectively someone explain

Hi Mtuko2 what is your location Paksat should not be a problem the signal is strong enough on 1.8m prime focus dish.I managed to track Multi tv,Arabsat 5c and Paksat on one dish 1.8 prime focus.I made the KU LNB to be primary in order to reduce the degree difference btn Paksat and Arabsat 5c at 20E.What is your signal strength on Yahsat I am looking forward to track it.

Thank you for that info Permie. I wonder why my levels are so much lower than yours?, what LNB are you using?

On my 120cm and 4922 in Nairobi Aljazeera English L=97% and Q=76% and for BBC L=97% and Q=71%

My location is North Western Tanzania Kigoma region,Paksat is not difficult to get calculate the correct azimuth you will hit green.

Am locked on Astra 2F West African Beam, Multi tv fta Package, on frequency 12525 V DVB-S SR 19532.

My setup includes a 1.6 meter offset dish plus Samson twin lnb.
No rain fade even when its raining cats and dogs.

On a 1.2 meter offset dish, the signal quality @ 45%.

On 1.6 meter offset signal quality @ 65%

Thanks. I am using an Inverto Black Premium twin LNB that seems pretty good. Dont know what else could be weakening my signal, checked carefully, and it does not seem there are trees in the way - perhaps the dish is bent or something

I nabbed the bird with the 165cm offset a while ago n got the same results.....was wondering how the 240cm offset wud perfom..... Thanx

paksat is easy to nab. pliz examine the image below. your dish should face south west but slightly to the west, it should also face upward. just wanna help. sorry for pic quality

First download the firmware patch e.g
SRT4920_4922_4922A_NewGUI_121p _130419.zip
New Software for SRT4920 4922 4922A with New GUI (Graphics User Interface). Dated: 19-04-2013. To Activate Hard Station Press 9696 under "Entertainment"

Unzip the file and store the unzipped file on your flash-dish.

Connect your flash dish on the usb port of your receiver.

Select Menu on your remote.

Select External Device>>>

Select File Manager>>>

Select the saved file (SRT4920_4922_4922A_NewGUI_121p _130419.zip)

Press OK on your remote, than select yes to upload the new firmware>>>

Once your receiver finishes to upload the new firmware, it will reboot with the new firmware.

NEW LOOK GRAPHICS USER INTERFACE ON NEW PATCH FIRMWARE

This is the new look interface of firmware SRT4920_4922_4922A_NewGUI_121p.
