African Satellite World and Sat Gear

I have an Inverto black ultra single, but was at Luthuli Avenue yesterday seeing what was there in terms of supposedly low noise Ku LNBs. I bought a STARLIFE SL-101 HD, on the box it claims noise 0.1db (the lower the number the better), and Gain: 70db (the higher the number the better). I paid Kshs 300 for it, although in another shop they were asking kshs 500. I also bought a Fuji HD LNB. With Nilesat 201 on my 1.35m offset dish, all three LNBs, (Inverto, Fuji and Starlife) performed roughly the same - I think the Starlife was slightly better than the other two, although the weather kept changing so it was impossible to do a strict comparison.

Hey there mwangi57, I have been waiting like forever for the guys on Luthuli to call me when they acquire the Inverto Black but can make do with that Starlife if that's how it performs. Kindly share with us the name of the shop I go get one. Thanks

All, I hope we soon we wont be buying a cheap imitation of the real SRT4922. Anyone with details on how to identify a genuine 4922 please share.

Thanks a lot FTA-Nash looking forward to your update. And did you come across HDMI to VGA too or was it just RCA?
Munyaga, I have checked the price of the Video-VGA converter. Goes for KSh.4500 at "Digital Life" shop at junction of Luthuli and Kamae roads, Nairobi. The converter with HDMI-VGA goes for 6K but it is out of stock at that shop.

I also bought my Strong 4922 about a month ago from a shop on River Road actually, just across from Luthuli. I paid 7k and it checked out on the Strong internet site where you check serial number to see if genuine. It performs well and certainly gets MPEG4.

Hi Mtuko2 what is your location Paksat should not be a problem the signal is strong enough on 1.8m prime focus dish.I managed to track Multi tv,Arabsat 5c and Paksat on one dish 1.8 prime focus.I made the KU LNB to be primary in order to reduce the degree difference btn Paksat and Arabsat 5c at 20E.What is your signal strength on Yahsat I am looking forward to track it.

Hi kibukila, I'm trying to nail Arabsat 5C to no success. Currently I'm receiving paksat 1.If I move my dish above paksat 1r I get Arabsat 5A. About how many centimeters from paksat 1r is Arabsat 5C and what is the tracking frequency. Nice hunting guys.

Can someone tell me more about Abudhabi TV (commonly called Abudhabi Sports) and its availability and cost + requirement for installation here in Tanzania?

mtuko don‘t give up yet. let your dish face west where you normally get arabsat 5C and slide it down so that ur dish face up and lie flat. use 4004 v 3333. am sure u hit green. remember to remove the plastic thing from the lnb.
happy hunting.

Munyaga, yesterday while shopping around at Luthuli avenue, came across the Single Inverto Black Ultra for KSh.1500 and the Quad Inverto Black Ultra for KSh.4800. The Twin type was out of stock. Goes for 3K or more. Check at "Digital Life" shop.
