Police have confirmed that the shooter in the deadly Kapenguria attack in which five policemen were killed was an officer at the same station.

A police statement sent to newsrooms said the officer "went berserk and grabbed a firearm from the Report Office at about 5am which he used to attack other officers."

Police say the officer had a turban that covered his face, leading to the previous suspicions that he was the terror suspect they were holding in the cells.

According to the police statement, none of the inmates who were held in the police cells were injured or killed in the attack.
Police have said they have opened an inquiry into the tragic incident that claimed lives of six officers.

The station commander was among those killed in the siege that began early Thursday morning and ended at about 2pm.

Speaking to the Nation by phone, West Pokot County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga confirmed that Kapenguria OCS Vitalis Ochido was among the dead.

Kapenguria shooter was a police officer - VIDEO

Yes he was one of the officers who attempted to rescue a suspected terrorist from custody. He sprayed bullets on fellow officers.
This explains why it took so long to tame him. Very sad that there was a terrorist sympathiser within the force.

So even after the facts are out you quote rumors and make deductions from that? what level of understanding is that or does your comment have to be self-serving?
