Lassana Diarra spent a year at Portsmouth befroe joining Real Madrid.

Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has blasted Arsene Wenger by claiming he learnt "nothing" from the Arsenal boss.

The France international joined the Gunners in 2007 but left just five months later to join Portsmouth.

Diarra excelled at Pompey and was sold to the Spanish champions for £20 million in the January transfer window.

But the 24-year-old, who had a spell with Chelsea before joining the Gunners, rubbished Wenger's reputation of nurturing youngsters.

"I did not learn anything from Wenger. He just taught me to doubt everything," he said.

"The relationship I had with him was not good. I learned more with (former Chelsea manager Jose) Mourinho.

"Mourinho taught me to fight, I spoke looking into his eyes. If you had a problem it would be discussed.

"Wenger never addressed me until I told him I was going. He talked to others, but not me. I feel like I never played for Arsenal.

"If people do not remind me of them (Arsenal), I forget about them. It's erased from my memory."

Diarra has played for five clubs in the past five years and has 16 caps for Les Bleus.

The midfielder played in both of Madrid's defeats to Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League last month.
