Acheni hshabjki wa kijinga basi. Huu ni msimu wa utalii (high season) KLM inatuaga na watalii wengi miaka yote na msimu ukiisha haiendi tena KIA. Baada ya high season mtabaki na Qatar, Condor, ET, KQ, PW na lile janga let ATCL.
KLM inatua mwaka mzima all year around na si seasonal as a matter of fact was the first European airline to ply KIA!

Inside KLM’s New 787-10 Dreamliner & Initial Routes For The New Aircraft

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has recently announced new routes and information regarding its new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner!
Following the recent news that Lufthansa is refreshing their international routes (You can read about the winners and losers here), new routes from another European carrier is great news indeed!

What can we expect from the new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner
KLM has 8 of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners on order (They 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners currently), and they will compliment the niche that they have carved out on their older Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.


KLM Dreamliner 787-10

The new 787-10s will have 344 seats on board. There are 38 business class seats and 306 economy seats, increasing the total seat count to 50 more than their original 787-9 Dreamliner’s.

The aircraft offers a range of passenger benefits in terms of travel comfort. For example, the greater air pressure in the cabin means that passengers arrive feeling more rested. And for passengers wanting to stay online during their flight, there’s WiFi on board.

KLM will be the first European carrier to fly the plane.

Other buyers include (another 149 orders) launch customer Singapore Airlines, Air Lease Corporation (ALC), All Nippon Airways (ANA), British Airways, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), and United Airlines.

New Routes
The new aircraft will be flying from July 2019, and whilst these routes could easily change before then, KLM has confirmed where the first three 787-10’s will be flying.
  • Amsterdam – Dubai from the 3rd of July, 2019. Three weekly flights, increasing to five from the 1st of October.
  • Amsterdam – Kilimanjaro – Dar es Salaam – Amsterdam from the 1st of July, 2019. Four weekly flights.
  • Amsterdam – Toronto from the September 29th, 2019. Five weekly flights

New Business Class
The new business class seats are actually rather similar to the previous offering on the 787-9. However, the seats are reportedly from a different manufacturer and thus are made out of lighter materials (For fuel efficiency) and slightly bigger.
“Japanese aircraft designer Jamco has designed the new seat called “Venture”.The seat has a lower weight than previous models, thus helping to reduce fuel consumption and thus the cost of the airline” – businessclass.no
The translation of the initial announcement has said that the seats have a ‘fish leg’ (We believe it might mean fin) design that allows all passengers access to the aisle.

The seats will also have a privacy partition, have lie-flat seating and offer a ‘do not disturb’ button to avoid sleep interruptions. The entertainment screen will also be 18.5 inches big.

We look forward to reviewing these new flights in 2019. I especially have an interest in checking out the Tanzania dogleg route that lands at Africa’s tallest mountain then returns via the regional city.

 
Kwanza si kweli kwamba hii ndio ndege ni kubwa kuliko zote inayomilikiwa na KLM kuja Kilimanjaro/Dar.Nimeshapanda Boeing 777-300ER kutoka dar to schiphol Amsterdam ambayo ndiyo ndege kubwa ya engine mbili kwa sasa duniani.Na KLM wamekuwa wakiitumia zaidi hii 777-300ER kwa safari za Tanzania miaka yote.Hiyo 787-10 labda ni kubwa kwa dreamliner series lakini sio kwa twin-engine jet kumilikiwa na KLM.
