The value of actual household consumption(Excludes commercial businesses) of goods and Services in Kenya is $71 Billion p.a while Tanzania only spends a measly $31B on household consumption of goods and Services.... Tofauti ni a freaking $40 Billion !!!!! Where do yo think the the raw materials for creating all that comes from , Turkana??

In the first eight months of 2019 Kenyan exports to the eac rose to a three year high of Sh77.32 billion.
Kenya imports raw materials from EAC countries but exports value added products to eac countries which fetch a higher price than raw materials eg We import a lot of ground nuts from Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda to plug a deficit, but we export peanut butter and peanut oils which fetch a higher price than the raw peanuts to these eac countries.
We export confectionary even after importing raw industrial sugar from eac countries eg chocolates, cakes, biscuits, candy etc.

It's unfortunate that you have decided to look at it from one angle only - that of production. Who told you that everything that a country imports are raw materials that are used in producing goods to export to other countries? What you don't understand is that there's something called "local consumption". Not everything you import is supposed to act as a raw material to produce an entirely new product for export. You cannot important computers as a "raw material" to make another product out of it.Lol how old are you? Your general total export trade is $6B and your general total import trade is $17B
You cannot add or substitute that figure by typing essays lol

What you don't understand is that there's something called "local consumption". Not everything you import is supposed to act as a raw material to produce an entirely new product for export. You cannot important computers as a "raw material" to make another product out of it.
A computer is a FINISHED PRODUCT. In short, our local consumption is much higher than that of Tanzania. That is why what you import, we import it twice or thrice to meet the local demand
