Here is the data explained further categorized interms of Imports/Exports

So, like MK254 put it, in2018, Kenya EAC Inter-Trade is $1.95 billion While Tz is $811.3 million and Uganda at $2.05 Billion

And from the Screenshot I have just provided, you can see the breakdown:
For the year 2018:

IMPORTS from other EAC members
1.Uganda is the biggest Importer of goods withing EAC at $796 Million
2. Followed by Kenya at $ 676 Million
3. Tanzania at number five importing goods worth $302 Million

EXPORTS to Other EAC Members
1. Kenya leads in exports $1.273 Billion
2.Uganda comes in a close second at $1.254 Billion
3. While Tanzania is third with $509 Million

So contrary to what you were trying to insinuate, Kenya is actually the biggest exporter of goods to the EAC region and we are the 2nd biggest importer of Goods in the region after Uganda...

In-terms of TRADE SURPLUS, Kenya has the largest trade surplus within EAC

Kenya Trade surplus 1273 - 677 = $596 Million
Uganda
comes in Second with 1255 - 796 = $459 Million
While Tanzania has a trade surplus of 508 - 303 = $205 Million.

Therefore Tanzania is clearly NOT a net exporter of anything in EAC, the maize that you sell us is hardly worth more than $50 million...... Among the big (geographically and demographically and politically speaking) countries within EAC, you actually have the least amount of exports.. infact, Both Uganda and Kenya each double your exports ...... Also Both Kenya and Uganda double your trade-surplus (Profits)...

You can expect a similar thing ndani ya ile Continental Free Trade Area manake kama kawa hatutalegeza kamba!!!

Edit:

Nimechunguza hio Trade yenu kule SADC..

In 2018 Tanzania Exported $680 Million to SADC

View attachment 1266036

Tanzania also Imported $649 Million from SADC

So while TZ intra SADC trade is larger than its Intra EAC trade, You only have a trade surplus of $31 million with SADC, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but given the fact that you make $205 Million worth of 'Profit' as a country from EAC, it shows that EAC is very much important to TZ in maintaining your global trade surplus/balance even though you are not that relevant within EAC interms of trade.... It also shows that Tz is also not that big of a player in SADC, i.e If Uganda and Kenya are each exporting over $1 Billion within EAC - a 5 member block, Tz exporting only $680m within a 16 member block SADC, you must be a very insignificant player in that block too!!!!!
Huyo sioni akirudi tena

Mimi nimekwama hapo kwa monkeys 🐡🐡. Eti gold would still be exported even if the whole of Tanzania was 99% made up of monkeys! πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ Hii ni kali. JF sihami anytime soon

Tanzania ina trade deficit ya $3B

Kenya ina trade deficit ya $11B

Yupi yupo vizuri kwenye biashara hapa?

Hurray I have learned something

Train yetu ya umeme na Nyerere Dam ikikamilika, trade deficit yetu itakua even more narrowed sababu hatutaagiza mafuta kwa wingi nje, since oil is the most imported commodity

Doooooh! Magu akili kubwa kweli

The way you reason!!!! πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ€”πŸ€”
So SGR itakuwa inabeba watu from all corners of Tanzania?? What a stupid argument!

Nimesema itapungua since population kubwa ya Watanzania wapo lake zone

Tanzania's population is evenly distributed
unapata tabu unaposikia 'lake zone' sababu hata hujui maana yake

The Lake Zone in Tanzania is made up of Regions surrounding Lake Victoria; these are Geita, Simiyu, Shinyanga, Kagera, Mara and Mwanza.

So "lake zone" imekuwa Greek ambayo ni vigumu kuelewa maana yake? In Kenya we have what we call the lake region
