Mr Kurtz ni mhusika mkuu kwenye “The Heart of Darkness”.
In the Footsteps of Mr Kurtz is named after the central character in The Heart of Darkness.

Well.
The best part for me was Samuel Hamilton, Adam Trask and George Lee reminicsing about the biblical story of Cain and Abel.
And the wonderful discovery of the Hebrew word “Timshel” by Lee’s relatives, the old Chinese scholars.
“Thou mayest” is truly one of the magic words of all times.
It is one of the reasons I find myself returning to Salinas Valley again and again.
How I long to be with you in these magical landscapes...

I really cannot say so for sure Paula.
According to some authorities the correct Hebrew term is “timshal”, full context “atah timshal bo”.
Again, in the Asheknaz bible the term is “timshol’.
Search over the word and you will find so much contention over its pronounciation as well as its translation not to mention its literal, metaphoric and allegoric meaning.
What is important to me however is the implied man’s God given ability to choose between good and evil.
Another thing which is of some gratification to me as a reader of books is that it is Steinbeck, who brought this word to the literary attention of the world through East of Eden.
Poa nimekusoma... nilitarajia ningekuwa nimerudi lakini bado! But nimeweka kwenye calendar ili niweze kukumbuka mwenyewe hapo baadae!
