Mohamed akiwa na umri wa miaka 49 alimuoa Aisha binti Abu Bakhr ambaye alizaliwa mwezi wa tano au wa sita mwaka 613 AD na aliolewa na mtume Mohamed mwaka 620 AD.

Mnamo mwaka 623 AD ndipo mtume Mohamed akiwa na umri wa miaka 52 au 53 alipoanza kufanya tendo la ndoa na mkewe wa tatu Aisha binti Abu Bakhr.

Since she was due to turn 19 in the year 11 AH, her birthday must have fallen after the date of Muhammad’s death, so in the middle of Rabi’awwal or later. This all suggests a birth-date of January or February 614.

This exactly fits Aïsha’s own account that she was six when the marriage was contracted (in 620) and nine when it was consummated (in 623) (Bukhari 5:58:234. Muslim 8:3309). To be precise, she was nine and a quarter solar years old at the time of the consummation.

Aïsha’s birthdate is one of the fixed points in Islamic chronology. It is known precisely, from multiple independent attestations. Other, less certain, events can be dated by comparing them with what is known about Aïsha.
