CCM versus Opposition: Political Lessons to Learn

CCM versus Opposition: Political Lessons to Learn

Hatutaruhusu watu waliopewa uraia ughaibuni huko watuchafulie nchi.

Tanzanians will vote for president, members of Parliament and councilors later October this year. We have witnessed the opening of political campaigns for all partipating political parties.

The rulling CCM has two tasks: selling their 2020/25 election manifesto and showing how the 2015/20 election manifesto has been implemented. Opposition has got two tasks as well; selling their 2020/25 election manifesto and showing (by making critical analysis) on the failure of rulling CCM on it's attempt to implement the 2015/20 election manifesto.

In my opinion, CCM is good in doing both tasks: it is selling well it's manifesto which is well crafted with implementable promises and showing, through data and tangible evidence, the implementation of 2015/20 election manifesto. On the other hand, opposition is not doing what it was supposed to do. It is neither showing the failures of CCM in implementing the outgoing manifesto nor selling their election manifesto (if they have).

Of all opposition parties, it's only ACT-Wazalendo that seems to have at least good election manifesto. The official opposition CHADEMA has nothing to call a manifesto. It looks like the party did not make good preparation to participate in this general election. Their candidate is full of anger, jeopardy, revenge name it. He always speak in harsh tone. He even promised bloodshed if he is not declared winner in this election.

To all our friends and enemies all over the world, please don't be deceived. Take your time to find out the truth. Tanzanians have decided to stand with Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli as their president. This guy is one in a million therefore, we will not let go of him.

If the ruling party had better political policies the way you're purporting it to be then the same party would not have been banking their hopes on the partisan electoral commission to facilitate the rigging of the polls for them.

Prior to even the political campaigns had begun the returning officers in several constituencies have already unjustly disqualified some of the opposition parties candidates apparently to pave the way for the ruling party candidates to have a walkover in both parliamentary and civic elections.

The regime has also ensured that it is having a tight control of the media thus ensuring a total blackout on any publicity, broadcast or coverage for any news related to the serious opposition parties.

The regime has, on many occasions, turned down the popular demand for the formation of an independent electoral commission ostensibly out of the fear that formation of such a non partisan electoral body would pave way for the free and fair elections whose outcome could result into the ignominious defeat for the ruling party in polls conducted on a level playing field.

Lastly, it is evident now that the ruling party is now on the defensive largely relying on the much discredited state security apparatuses to survive after the people have become disenchanted with it.
Spot on!
