I can confirm that it is true. I think mwisho ni 12 years.....not sure lakini
That affects a lot the market of brand new cars. One thing that also favors Kenya over it's neighbors is good and already available infrastructure. Kenya has a lot of bus and trucks fabricators ukiingia hata kwa small towns and estates utapata wako. Till date Kenya still fabricates a lot of trucks and buses for the entire region that is East and Central Africa.

I thought ukiwa Tanzania unaweza kuaccess soko la SADC na EAC kwa pamoja. Why are we not using that to our advantage? Tatizo liko wapi? Ni umeme, maji, business start-up procedures au tax incentives?
Ninachojua kuwa na viwanda vya kuassemble magari ni very big business ambayo sisi watanzania hatutakiwi kupuuza hata kidogo.
Nishauri tu serikali ifanye study jinsi ya kuvutia uwekezaji kwenye hii sekta ya kuassemble magari tuchangamkie before its too late. Pia kwenye textile & apparel pamoja na pharmaceuticals.

Mngekua mnajiuliza maswali kama haya nina uhakika by now mngekua mumepiga hatua kali, sio kule kujipiga kifua kila siku bila kutumia akili na kuponda Kenya kama kwamba ndio adui wenu mkubwa.

Mleta mada huu uzi umedhihirisha uzalendo wako kwa nchi yako, na unaonyesha upo open minded and you have best interest for your country.
Tatizo la nchi yenu kuna sera nyingi mnafaa kuanza kuzifanyia kazi, nilishangaa sana kwenye sakata la vyeti feki eti kwamba vigezo vya mawaziri na wakuu wa mikoa na wanasiasa ni darasa la saba, kwamba ukijua kuandika na kusoma inatosha na unaweza ukasimamia wizara nyeti.
Kauli kama hizo lazima zinatamausha wasomi kwenye nchi yenu, maana wanaishia kupewa maagizo na amri kutka kwa hao hao viongozi ambao elimu ni zero.
 
Sidhani kama viwanda vya aina hii tunavihitaji, tunahitaji viwanda vinavyozalisha bidhaa zinazotumika kwa wingi katika soko la ndani. Idadi ya magari mapya yanayonunuliwa kwa mwaka Tanzania hayafiki hata 10,000, unataka assembly ili umuuzie nani wakati soko la ndani ni dogo?

Motor industry in decline as sales fall 27 per cent

The motor industry has sustained the drop in sales of new vehicles witnessed in 2016, with the numbers in the first quarter of this year declining by nearly a third.

New vehicle sales fell 27.4 per cent in the three months to March, pointing to a gloomy 2017 for the industry that has attracted major brands to start production locally.

According to Kenya Motor Industry Association data, dealers sold 2,687 units during the quarter, which was a dip from 3,699 units sold in the first three months of 2016. This mirrors the trend last year, where sales went down 30.6 per cent to 13,535 units.

Kuna difference ya brand new na second hand. Most imports in Kenya (and Africa) are second hand vehicles. In Kenya, this number is constantly over 100,000 per year.

The purpose of industries is first to lower the cost of the product so it becomes affordable. And second and most importantly to expand the GDP.

Kenya wanaenda uchaguzi,ufaransa, afrika kusini hizi ajenda zinatamkwa wazi na figures lakini hapa huwezi kusikia mwanasiasa wala mchumi anakwambka tunataka kutengeneza ajira kiasi kadhaa.

Lakini si niliona sehemu taarifa kwamba sababu za kutowafuata wakuu wa mikoa na viongozi wengine kwenye sakata la vyeti feki ni kwamba vigezo vya viongozi hao ni kujua kusoma na kuandika tosha.
Sasa kawaida mtu wa la saba anajua kuandika na kusoma, lakini uongozi kwenye taasisi nyeti unahitaji kuyajua mengi hususan uundwaji na usimamizi wa sera endelevu na zenye tija.

Hilo la kumteua mkurugenzi wa TIC kutoka kwa siasa sio issue maana mwisho wa siku wasifu/CV yake ndio muhimu. Kwamba amesoma hadi wapi, ana sifa zipi kwenye historia ya utendaji wake.
