Kawaida hua watu wanakata ticketi online wanaingiza details kama seat number,date, Jina, ID Number alafu wanalipa na kupewa ticket number....
Unaeza ukaenda siku yoyote kabla siku ya kusafiri kuchukua ticketi yako na hautapata msongamano wowote, lakini ili ku save garama, watu hungojea siku ya kusafiri wakifika kituoni ndo wanaenda hapo kwa ATMs na ambapo wanaitishwa ticket Number na phone number na mashini alafu pap, boarding pass yako inachapishwa....

Shida inayotokea hua ni hizo dakika 30 za mwisho ndo kila mtu anafika kwa SGR station na anataka kuchapisha ticket.....

Wakenya walisema suluhisho ya hio shida ni KRC wapanue network yao, Wafungue ofisi kadhaa kwa mitaa kadhaa mijini alafu waweke hizo ATM kwa hizo ofisi,ili ule mtaa unaokaa kuna ofisi ya SGR ambayo iko na hio ATM ya ticketi iwe unaweza chapisha tiketi mtaani bila kufika stesheni. Kwasababu kama ulivyosema hakuna mtu ata book online alafu asafiri kuchapisha na ku confirm tiketi kwa stesheni alafu arudi nyumbani angojee siku ya kusafiri. Lakini kukiwa na ATM machine mtaani itakua rahisi kufanya hivyo.
 
Wewe ndio mshamba hiyo system mlioweka ya boarding pass ndio failure yenyewe, mchina anawaletea system za kizamani Sana, Treni sio ndege kwamba ni lazima iwepo boarding pass,
Kwani huko kwenu mtatumia nini????? Kwasababu suluhisho lilobakia ni kutumia QR code app. Na hio system ya QR code pia iko na msongamano wakati wa kuingia kwa jukwaa la reli manake ni rahisi zaidi ku scan tiketi ya karatasi kuliko mashini ku scan QR code yenye iko kwa simu.
 
Ulaya nzima sijawahi ona boarding pass screens train stations mara nyingi kuna mashine za kununua ticket aside online possibilities!
Mkuu Mimi Niko huku sijawahi ona hiyo kitu, watu tunascan code ziko kwenye simu wala hakuna usumbufu wowote.
Yaani iko hivi ukinunua ticket online system inakuuliza Kama unataka hard copy ndio utaenda print station ila soft copy inakudondoshea kwenye simu ukifika kwenye barriers unascan watu wengi ukiondoa wazee wanatumia Sana simu hata kwenye bus ni hivyohivyo unascan code iliyo kwenye simu ni rahisi haina usumbufu ukilingsnisha na karatasi

Earlier you said there were only 6 ticket scanning machines before the bording patorm, now that I hve disproved that you changed your mind that its no the problem area...

On this Pic alone, there are 10 ticket counters, And If you have been to the station like you claim, you know that on another side of this stretch there is a corner where there are other ticket counters.

Hio ni guarantee kwamba ukinunua ticket kabla hizo dakika kumi za mwisho, ... Utaweza kutoka hapo kwa ticketing na Kuenda kufanyiwa baggadge scanning, full body scanning na uningie kwa stesheni na uweze kupanda treni!!!! Infact, inakupatia uwezo wa kuwashtaki kotini kama utapewa tikiti dakika 11 kabla treni iondoke alafu uwachwe na treni kwasababu ulipoteza mda huo wote ukivua ukanda na pete kwa metal detector Kwahivyo hio messenge ya 10 minutes b4 departure ina cancel hio point no.3 yako ya eti xray machines hazitoshi, Nairobi iko na 4 X-ray machines zile za high capacity ambazo ziko na speed ya kuscan mizigo mingi kwa mpigo.

Cards are for Commuter/metro rail where you expect to be using the card daily, not long distance train travel where you only travel like 4 times a year

Don't you remember how the likes of beba pay that you could use for matatu and Nairobi commuter rail failed because everyone still wanted to pay cash and be done with it? We could easily adopt that system to the SGR but we know no one is gonna use those cards. Mkenya pesa zake za matumizi ya kila siku ziko kwa mkono au kwa MPESA, ukimwambia sijui shika hii card unaweza jaza pesa utakua unajisumbua bure. Hayo mambo ya Europe hayawezi succeed huku... That is why there are more MPESA users than ATM card holders in Kenya!

Boss, I do not work for SGR neither am I intrested in counting all the service desks there..That is why i said i probably remember 1 long line outside, 10 ticket desks but my recollection says i only saw 6 clerks sitting, 2 scanning machines & 6 boarding gates.
That long Queue you posted here plus sweaty crowds on the escallator shows the quality of service is very poor.
My understanding is that boarding starts at 7AM & the train goes at 9AM..2 hrs with enough service desks there is no need of even a large waiting bay.
The point is surface Area of a station has nothing to do with unnecessary Sweaty Crowds..Everything is dependent on service stations & available man power
 
Am talking about Oyster Card in Britain which I use when am there for both short & long Train & bus Rides across the UK.
For Tz they can intergrate their BRT card to SGR if they want Quick processing
 
We shall revisit this story when Dar station starts operating and you will see why if 21,400 sq.m seem sweaty and crowded and can't fit 1,600 people at once, then 13,000sq.m will be a whole lot worse

Ni kama uwe na barabara yenye load limit ya 100 tons halafu ujitambe unaweza unaweza kubeba cargo zaidi ya mwenye barabara ya load limit 150 tons! Akili za Kariobangi ndo hudanganywa hivyo! If axle load is 25 tons that means 100 axle loads per wagon moving at 80km/h! There is no way u can claim of having more load capacity than one with axle load of 35 tons and subsequently 140 tons per wagon and yet having electrical engines that can pull a 2 km long train and moving at 120 km/h! Even turn around/dwelling time aside traffic is lower for a faster train with a bigger axle load! The maths n law of Physics don't add up! May be Chinese way of conning Kunyans!
