ICYMI, he was at some point during JK regime. In fact during his tenure as transport Minister, TZ was on a verge to start construction of SGR using the Chinese debt deal, Kenyan style. Luckily, the deal was swiftly canceled by JPM and a conoetetitive construction tender floated....

First of all, Kubali kwamba you posted a pic of Kenya freight train and compared it with Lagos Light rail, sahii umerudi na picha ya treni tofauti baada ya kurealize ushamba wako.
And for the sake of comparison, Hizi hapa ndo treni za mizigo za Nigeria, Ni sawa na zetu za Kenya! Nigeria walinununua vichwa tisa(9), Kenya ilinunua vichwa arubaini na tano (45)
And for avoidance of confusion, Hii hapa ndo kichwa cha treni ya abiria ya Kenya, Hii moddel inaijulikana kama DF11G na ilizundiliwa 2005

Hii hapa comparizon, DF11G Outperforms the Nigerian NDJ3 Locomotive in all the aspects that mater except for looks, probably the main reason why Nigeria chose more of them.

BTW, looking at the comparison I can already see why Kenya didn't end up choosing the NDJ3, It has a fuel tank capacity of 5500L, which is ideal for short routes like the Nigerian route which is 150km, While the DF11G that Kenya has provides for 2 fuel Tanks each with a capacity for 7500L enough to take you 700km from Mombasa to Naivasha!
