Cost comparison SGR Kenya vs SGR Tanzania

Kwani mnashindwa kuweka ramp?
Nilikuambia not everything is worth having issues with...
And FYI! Ramp ni huo mlango wa wagon nusu unafunguka kuja chini and becomes the ramp. look carefully at the chain link holding the door/ramp when it's on the ground.

kwahiyo unaridhika na kilichopo kwa gharama ya $200 mln of modernization?

You are confusing Naivasha - Kisumu-Malaba MGR which goes to the west of Kenya with this 240km Nairobi-Nanyuki railway which heads north of kenya. Nanyuki is only 70km from isiolo town (remember isiolo frI'm the lapsset project?)
The Nairobi-Nanyuki line was tendered at $30m but GoK cancelled the tender and instead handed the rehabilitation project to KDF engineers and NYS workforce who did the project at a fraction of the cost i.e $10.8 million.

Nanyuki line will also serve Southern Ethiopia cargo who will benefit from a shorter route compared with Djibouti.

---------------
Kenya intends to use recently refurbished Nanyuki metre gauge railway to transport cargo to Ethiopia from the Mombasa port as it targets growing industrial activities at the border.
Kenya Ports Authority chairman Joseph Kibwana said plans are underway to have cargo transported from Mombasa via standard gauge railway (SGR) to Nairobi before being transferred on the Nanyuki line to Moyale border.
Mr Kibwana said Kenya Railways Corporation will build a cargo yard in Nanyuki where the freight will be consolidated and ultimately ferried to Moyale by road.
β€œKenya Transport and Logistics Network has conducted the viability study on the route and it has been found to be viable. We want to tap the potential that has been brought by the industrial activities at the Ethiopian border,” said Mr Kibwana.
Landlocked Ethiopia has mainly been relying on the Djibouti port for cargo from overseas but this mainly serves the upper part of the country.
The Nanyuki-Moyale route, which enjoys a good road network, will shorten the distance on consignment that are destined to the lower region of Ethiopia.

[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] refurb ya jointed rail unlike refurb ya Tz continous welded rail plus axle load increase to 25 tons at per with kenyan SGR
SGR Kenya - Jointed - Axle load 25 tons - Carrying capacity 22 million tones p.a
SGR Tz - Continuously wielded - Axle 35 tons - Carrying capacity 17 million tones p.a.

SGR Uganda - Continuously Wielded - They are going to use a lower density rail but carrying capacity will be same as Kenya at 22 Million tones..

Kwahivyo mambo unayoyaongelea hayana effect kubwa kwa uwezo wa reli kubeba mizigo mingi manake ni nadra sana kuhitaji axle load kubwa kubeba mizigo... (Not unless unapanga kubeba heavy unprocessed mineral deposits)
Lakini kwa mizigo ya Kawaida kama contena, mafuta ya crude oil, simiti, chuma .... etc unaweza kutumia axle load ndogo sana...

Kwa mfano, the proposed Mombasa-Lamu light railway itakua na only 15 tones per axle lakini itakua na uwezo wa kusafirisha 10 million tones p.a which is double your upgraded MGR of 25 ton axle!

If our meter guage can carry an over 50 ton tank and its only 18 ton axle . Infact, hivi vifaru vinaweza kubebwa kwa reli ya 12 ton axle

Tanzania mpo wapi na Dar+Tanga+Mtwara+Zanzibar port zenu ?

Your best performance is worse than what we were doing back in 2010 and 2011

Mbona gazeti la East African hua linapenda kuchapisha headings za ku hype zinazofanya watu wanunue gazeti, kama "Dar port takes business from Mombasa port" mara sijui "Uganda prefers Dar port over Mombasa" .... Heading za click bait hizo, There is no competition between Dar and Mombasa port! Mombasa port is clearly the dominant port even when hands tied and blind folded !!!!

endelea kujidanganya!

Update: electrical SGR Dar-Moro
