Watanzania tunajidhalilisha, speeches of politicians can not be the basis of a strong argument, because they talk so much and do little or nothing. Hebu tusubiri credible documents zipatikane ndo tujue which is which. Sasa kwa sasa nadhani inatosha kuwapongeza jirani zetu kwa hatua waliyopiga so far. Wao treni tayari iko relini sisi hata tender documents bado and still we have the courage to ridicule what they have achieved!! No please.

Kenya is like the-third-hand to receive those trains, they have been circulated for decades, originated and prolonged used in German then shifted to China if am not mistaken, lastly Kenya inaugurated them as new locomotives. Amazing

finally some sense into the thread, alot of speculation still in the air, i think we are a few months away from getting the nitty gritty of the project, however the turks are doing a good job in ethiopia where they are building the awash woldia line.The Awash Woldia/Hara Gebeya Railway Project is a new railway line being constructed between Awash and Woldia, Ethiopia.
Project owner Ethiopian Railway Corporation (ERC) is investing $1.7bn in the project. Construction of the new line commenced in February 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2017.
The new railway line will connect northern and central Ethiopia. It will also link the country's northern and eastern transportation networks. Total length is about 447kms, in my opinion the turks might be cheaper than the chinese.

the chinies contractor and the exim bank are two different people , if magu was throwing the deal out because of corrupt contractor, he would have just canceled the contractor...... the only reason they went to the chinies is eighther the turks are offering better deal or the chinies were concerened about Tanzanias capacity to pay back the loan hence they were delaying the project to seek guarantees

This thread just shows how little information East African Citizens have of their own projects and how far back in terms of development we are. In true democracies, costs of these projects would be public knowledge.
