In what may be seen as a stroke as of bad luck or a decline in the quality of Nigerian music, the 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards were completely dominated by South African acts.
Singer Davido had been tipped before the ceremony to be a big winner as he had 5 nominatons, but the Aye singer walked home with none as he lost in all 5 categories, including 2 to South African Casper Nyovest.
The only Nigerian winners on the night were Tiwa Savage, Olamide & Kcee, with P-Square, Seyi Shay,Flavour, 2Face,
Niyola, Phyno & Patoranking also joining Davido in coming back home empty-handed.
The awards perhaps showed the dedication of Nigerian fans towards their artistes, as the awards were given out on fan votes.
