GOALS from Xavi, Daniel Guiza and David Silva fired Spain into their first major final in 24 years.

The perennial underachivers tore the sorry Russians apart in one of the best performances of Euro 2008. Despite a dour first half the Spaniards produced a second-half masterclass. Midfielder Xavi sparked the rout when he opened the scoring on 50 minutes. Andres Iniesta beat two men on the left wing before spotting his Barcelona team-mate bursting into the box.

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres was once again replaced in the second half by Guiza. And Spain coach Luis Aragones' faith in the Real Mallorca hitman paid of when he bagged the second.

Cesc Fabregas' crafty chip from the edge of the box found Guiza who controlled on his chest before smashing home past keeper Igor Akinfeev. Arsenal midfielder Fabregas had a hand in the third as his square ball found Silva. The Valencia man coolly slotted home to spark incredible celebrations. Spain face Germany, who beat Turkey 3-2 yesterday, in the final on Sunday.
