Arturo Vidal: "James has a high level to play as a starter for that team (Real Madrid) & I don't know why they didn't give him a chance this year. I hope he takes the best decision and begins to play. He has to grow, search for his future & find a place to play & enjoy football." https://t.co/SDIOK7PdSm

*Immobile and Silva together at Lazio?*

Lazio are reportedly working on a new €5m-a-year contract with leading goalscorer Ciro Immobile and have offered Manchester City playmaker David Silva a three-year deal at the Olimpico.

Check out the betting preview for Napoli v Lazio on Eurotips.co.uk.

Sporting director Igli Tare is working hard to renew Immobile’s deal with the Aquile and Il Corriere dello Sport claims the club is prepared to offer him a new deal worth between €4m to €5m a year.

Immobile, who has scored 35 times in Serie A this term, could be joined by Spanish midfielder David Silva next season, as Tare has been trying to convince the 34-year-old.

Silva leaves Manchester City on a free transfer this summer and the report claims Tare has offered him a three-year contract in Rome, worth €4m a year.

But the newspaper highlights that the former Spain international made €10m a year at City and has received other offers from America and the Middle East.

Lazio can offer him a chance to play in the Champions League and the report claims Silva would like to stay in Europe and that Tare has been ensured by the player’s entourage that he will give his answer very soon.

No agreement between #ASRoma and #MUFC for #Smalling. #ManchesterUnited want €20 M + €5 M add ons.
#ASRoma official bid is €15 M.
Tomorrow #RomaJuve will be probably for Smalling last game with @OfficialASRoma, not playing against #Sevilla and going back to #MUFC @SkySport https://t.co/4UBpSDHO8O

*Osimhen to Napoli - a calculated risk*

From a financial standpoint, the €71m transfer fee would be amortized over the 5-year term of the player’s contract.

Unlike most clubs, Napoli does not straight-line its amortization. Rather, they frontload the amortization such that 70% (or €50m) would be paid off by the end of year two.

If Osimhen were to fail in his first two years at Napoli, the club would only have to sell him for €21 million to break even. Any sale price greater than €21m would generate a profit on the books.

Meanwhile, from a performance standpoint, Napoli have already safeguarded themselves. In January they signed SPAL striker Andrea Petagna, and in June Napoli extended the contract of veteran striker Dries Mertens.

If Osimhen fails to deliver on the pitch, two strikers who do have a history of scoring goals in Serie A are waiting in the wings.

On the other hand, if Osimhen lives up to expectations, Napoli could be sitting on yet another goldmine. [World Football Index]

Tuttosport: Team-mates moved to tears by Bonaventura’s farewell; Atalanta his preferred next club

By Oliver Fisher - 3 August 2020, 11:09

Giacomo Bonaventura’s display of emotion after Saturday night’s win over Cagliari even moved his team-mates to tears, according to a report.

Bonaventura will say goodbye to the Rossoneri after six seasons, with 183 official appearances and 35 goals. The 30-year-old came off the bench during Saturday’s 3-0 win over Cagliari at San Siro to end the season, and with his deal due to expire now the season has been completed it seems as though he will be allowed to seek new pastures.

As Tuttosport reports (via MilanLive), Bonaventura’s tears on the pitch at San Siro struck a chord with his team-mates, but he then repeated that in the dressing room in front of his companions, who were also moved.

Among the players who shared the midfielder’s emotions above all was Lucas Biglia, who will also leave Milan after three seasons.

In the next few days Bonaventura will meet his agent Mino Raiola to discuss his future, with his first choice being a return to Atalanta, the team where he established himself as a top Serie A player.

Benevento may also be an option though as they are ready to guarantee him a two-year deal, while at the moment the idea of a move to Torino appears to be fading.
