L azio have appointed former AC Milan and Brazil defender Roque Junior to work on the coaching team of their youth academy.

In a four-year spell at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza from 2000-2004, Roque Junior helped the club to their 2002/02 Champions League triumph, which saw them defeat Juventus in the final.

For the remainder of the current season, the World Cup winner will work primarily with 15 and 16-year-olds in the club’s youth system, with a view to staying on beyond this campaign to join the coaching staff of the Biancocelesti’s Primavera side.

LAZIO i don think have made right decision, cause when you look @ that period 2000-2004,

what player came from Ac milan primavera side, and become to be a Stardom, I can say no one rather than we saw legend cruising in the team til Ancellloti, left them

"When people think of Italy, after the mafia and pizza, they think of AC Milan"

MILAN – 13 years ago today, May 28 2003, the Rossoneri won their sixth European Cup after beating Juventus in the all-Italian final.

Old Trafford, Manchester was the scene for the Rossoneri’s moment of glory but the contest would go right down to the wire with the game ending 0-0 after extra time.

The Rossoneri however held their nerve when it mattered most and won the shoot-out 3-2 thanks to successful spot-kicks from Serginho, Nesta and Shevchenko.

This is how Milan lined-up that night: Dida; Costacurta, Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze; Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf; Rui Costa; Inzaghi, Shevchenko.

Also on this date, but in 1969, the club won its second European Cup by overcoming Ajax 4-1 in the final. This is how the Rossoneri lined-up that night: Cudicini, Anquilletti, Schnellinger; Rosato, Malatrasi, Trapattoni; Hamrin, Lodetti, Sormani, Rivera, Prati.
