Confirmation Gonzalo Higuain won't fly to London until at least Tuesday, as first #ACMilan must secure replacement Krzysztof Piatek from #Genoa - same goes for Alvaro Morata to #Atleti football

Di Marzio confirms that everything regarding Piatek & Higuain will be formalized on Tuesday morning. Until Milan close a deal for Piatek, Higuain will not be allowed to fly to London & join Chelsea.

Gazidis was present in the negotiations and gave his approval for a Piatek transfer, according to Sky.

The deal between Milan and Genoa for Piatek is practically completed, Milan will sign him on a permanent deal for €35M + bonuses. Milan will include counterparts in the deal, at the moment the most probable is Halilovic, while Bertolacci is yet to give his 'ok' to Genoa. [Sky]

Sky's @LucaMarchetti says that the discussion about Piatek right now is not about the transfer formula - but about the figures of the transfer.

3.74 - Krzysztof #Piatek has scored 13 goals in Serie A this season with an Expected Goals of 9.26 (+3.74 difference), the highest positive difference in the competition so far. Reliable.

Milan have a new vision that will enable the club to compete again amongst European footballs elite. The Singer family, and Managing Director Ivan Gazidis both want to reshape the clubs transfer policy, aiming to bring in top young talents to the club, who can become big assets to the club, both in terms of ability on the pitch and financially.

That is why the club pulled out of deals to sign Fabregas and Ibrahimovic recently, the policy going forward will be to only sign players under the age of 26.

Geoffrey Moncada has been brought in by the singer family to be the clubs chief scout. He previously spent 6 seasons at Monaco in a similar role, where he has helped identify and develop some of the world’s top young talent including Kylian Mbappe, who joined Monaco despite interest from PSG and Real Madrid in 2012.

It is Moncada’s vision that has helped shaped the transfer policy of the Rossoneri, and it was one that has served Monaco well in recent years.

Even in the short time that he has been in Milan, he has lead the club towards the signings of two top European talents.

The first being Leroy Abanda 18, from Monaco, a full back who Moncada knew of from his time at the Principality club , and who will arrive on a free transfer in the summer. The second is Tiago Djalo, also 18, from Sporting. Djalo is a promising defender coming out of Sporting Lisbon’s famous youth academy, and it looks likely that he will become a Milan player in the near future.

Milan are also paying close attention to Genk’s Edon Zhengrova, who has received excellent reviews from scouts who have traveled to Belgium to watch him.

Leonardo has brought in a new scouting structure in Milan, his trusted scout Angelo Castellazzi has been made responsible for all youth scouting. All decisions on signings go through Castellazzi, who has worked with Leonardo at both PSG and Antalyaspor.

They have also confirmed that Stefano Luxoro has joined the scouting team, formerly of Juventus. He will also be working primarily on identifying and scouting youth targets, and his experience in the industry is thought to be a chief reason for Leonardo hiring him.

Genoa Coach Cesare Prandelli believes imminent Milan signing Krzysztof Piatek is “the most complete striker I’ve ever worked with.”
A deal is practically done for him to reach San Siro at a cost of €35m plus bonuses and the inclusion of midfielder Alen Halilovic.
“Piatek is a type of player I’ve not really had in my squads before. He has all the important characteristics needed and is the most complete striker I’ve ever worked with,” Prandelli told Spanish newspaper Marca.
“I’ve trained some very capable forwards who can score goals, but he is complete. He has strength, good physicality, stamina, intuition and a way of reading the game. He can play as a centre-forward, but also a support striker.
“I think Piatek is one of the best strikers in Europe. I can certainly see him playing for Real Madrid, Barcelona or Milan.”
Poland international Piatek is currently second in the Capocannoniere charts behind Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus.
“Ronaldo brought a lot of enthusiasm to Serie A, but his most important contribution has been ensuring the great champions believe Serie A is important again. Italian football is now marketable and can be sold all over the world.”
Prandelli is Genoa’s third Coach of the season after Davide Ballardini and Ivan Juric were fired, yet the second half of the season only begins this week.
“I chose Genoa because President Enrico Preziosi has a strong character and convinced me. He has very interesting ideas for the future and I want to help Genoa improve.
“The main objective right now is to secure Serie A safety. We’ll plan out the future at the end of the season.”

*Four wingers on transfer shortlist for Milan*

AC Milan will reportedly look to sign a winger this month and have already identified four targets already.

It is believed that while the rossoneri are signing Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa with a deal likely to be done by Tuesday, they will not look to sign a central midfielder because of Lucas Biglia coming back to fitness and the signing of Lucas Paqueta.

But they indeed will look to sign a winger and Tuttosport report that they've identified four players out of which they will look to sign one this month.

One of those is Manchester United and Arsenal target Yannick Carrasco, someone who will be a more expensive purchase than any of the other targets and someone Milan have been looking at.

Gelson Martins too is another target as it hasn't worked out for him at Atletico Madrid and Milan will look to take advantage of that.

The other two targets are lesser known, with one being Brugge's Danjuma Groeneveld and the other being Standard Liege's Maliano Djenepo.

*Gazidis skeptical of Piatek deal*

Yesterday, AC Milan took a step forward in the negotiations for the transfer of Krzystof Piatek to the club. As reported in today's edition of Corriere della Sera, aside from Leonardo and Maldini, Ivan Gazidis was also present at yesterday's meeting with Genoa representatives.

The Italian paper says that the CEO of the clubs was the most sceptical of the three regarding the deal due to the cost of the transaction and for the excessive technical similarity of the Polish striker to Cutrone.

AC Milan are reportedly keen on PSV star Hirving Lozano, but face stiff competition from Napoli who are said to be leading them in the pursuit of the Mexican international.

The 23-year-old has continued to impress so far this season, scoring 15 goals and providing nine assists for the Dutch giants in just 27 appearances.

That in turn is helping them continue to lead the way in the Eredivisie, and time will tell if he can inspire them to league success before his future comes under further scrutiny in the summer.

According to Calciomercato, Milan are potentially set to fight Napoli for his signature, albeit it could cost either club in excess of €40m to prise him away from PSV who will want to cash in if they are forced to sell one of their most prized assets.

It’s added that Napoli are in a stronger position to sign Lozano with Milan’s FFP problems cited as a potential issue to any negotiations, and so it remains to be seen whether or not the situation changes in the coming months.

The Rossoneri certainly need to add more quality in the wide positions, as coach Gennaro Gattuso continues to heavily rely on the likes of Suso and Samu Castillejo, while playing Hakan Calhanoglu out of position on the wide left.

In turn, given that it is Lozano’s natural role, it could be an ideal fit. Nevertheless, with their FFP issues in mind, coupled with the fact that they’ve been tipped to spend €35m+ on Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek in January, as reported by Football Italia, it remains to be seen how much is left in the budget for the summer.

With Gonzalo Higuain set to cut short his loan spell and join Chelsea, as per the Guardian, Milan will certainly need to add further firepower to an already goal-shy attack which has scored just 26 goals in 19 Serie A games so far this season.

Donnarumma to Sky: "We did not start very well, but we know how to suffer, we then came out with our qualities and we won a huge match. Napoli? I'm a great admirer of Napoli, but those are two games that we hope to win."

Zapata is suffering from a muscular injury that was caused by the poor condition of the pitch at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. He will take some tests in 48 hours.
