#ACMilan director Ricky Massara admits Franck Kessie is going through “a difficult period” but expects the midfielder to “get back to being the player we all know”

Journalist Claudio Raimondi has offered an update for SportMediaset on Italia Uno (via MilanNews.it) regarding Milan’s objectives for the attack.

He claims that the Milan leadership have convinced by recent games that a striker must be signed in January due to the struggles of Krzysztof Piatek and Rafael Leao.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to be heavily linked but is described in the report as ‘the dream of the fans’, with Milan ‘cold’ on the idea of signing him.

However, Dries Mertens is a player who is interesting the Rossoneri and Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has set a January asking price of €10m, a figure deemed too high by Milan since he will be available for free in June.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is also mentioned in the report, but Inter are ahead in the race, while the name of Mario Mandzukic is coming back into fashion again though Juventus want a sale and Milan wants a loan.

Finally, Raimondi claims that Mariano Diaz of Real Madrid could be targeted, though with any potential signing it must first be funded by sales due to the recent outcome of Milan’s balance sheet.

Milan management desperately need a winger and are playing hard ball for Mertens who's available for €10m just because he will be available for free after 6-months. By that time many teams with UCL football will also be on the line to sign him and we will lose eventually

*Milan want Ancelotti back?*

Milan director Paolo Maldini is looking to bring Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti back to the club, claims Tuttosport.

After a turbulent period at the San Paolo, Ancelotti’s future seems up in the air andreports state he needs to turn the tide sooner rather than later to keep his job.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis put the team on a training retreat after a poor run of form, yet it has ended up sparking all sorts of chaos between players, fans and coaches.

Now, Tuttosport is reporting Carletto could be in line for a return to the Rossoneri this summer if Maldini stays on as technical director.

The 60-year-old managed the Rossoneri between 2001 and 2009, winning a Scudetto and two Champions Leagues with a squad boasting the likes of Kaka, Andriy Shevchenko and the former defender himself.

The Diavolo have shown improvement under Stefano Pioli but have won just one of their first five matches with him at the helm.

They travel to the Partenopei on November 23, in their first game after the international break.

Krunic and Donnarumma start for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy in their Euro qualifier. Romagnoli is on the bench for the Azzurri

Di Marzio on Ibrahimovic’s future: “The most concrete contacts are with Mihajlovic & Bologna. Napoli and Milan are also evaluating whether to make an offer or not. There could also be other clubs interested. If Milan can afford him? Yes, they only need to pay his salary.”

*Mancini: 'Italy dangerous in Euro 2020'*

Roberto Mancini believes “France would not be happy to face” Italy in Euro 2020 and called Bosnia’s Edin Dzeko “one of the best strikers in the world.”
It kicks off in Zenica at 19.45 GMT, click here for the line-ups and LIVEBLOG.
The Azzurri have already qualified for Euro 2020 as group winners, but there is still plenty of motivation.

“It will certainly be tough and open, but it is above all important for us to get a good seeding status in the draw,” Mancini told Rai Sport.
“Once you reach the final tournament, every team is strong and well-organised, so it’s difficult to say who we’d prefer to avoid.
“Even France, if we were to get the draw, would not be happy to face us. Italy always become very dangerous in major tournament situations, even if France are at a more advanced stage than us in their progress right now.
“It’s going to be 23 players in the end and we’ve got the majority of the group decided, unless there are serious injuries.
“Of course, things could change over the next six months, if people who deserve it emerge, such as Paolo Rossi in 1982 or Toto Schillaci in 1990, but we can’t predict that.”
Finland have now taken second place in this group, but Bosnia and Herzegovina had been tipped to challenge Italy for the top spot.

They had taken the lead with Roma striker Dzeko in Turin, but eventually capitulated 2-1.
“Bosnia made life difficult for us, but they were perhaps the only team really in this group that didn’t sit back and defend deep. Our pressing in the first half was not good, which allowed them to use their quality and Miralem Pjanic took control of the midfield. It could’ve ended in a draw, but we did far better after the break.
“Dzeko is one of the best strikers in the world. Despite the size of him, he moves very quickly, is strong in the air, good with his right foot and his left. We signed him from Wolfsburg and he scored tons of goals for Manchester City.
“He was one of the best centre-forwards then and he still is now.”

*Piatek: 'I'll be worth €70m'*

Krzysztof Piatek admits his life has been transformed in Serie A with Genoa and Milan. “The next time I change club, I’d like to be worth €60-70m.”
The last 18 months have been a whirlwind for the 24-year-old, as he joined Genoa in the summer of 2018 for €4.5m, then moved to Milan in January for €35m plus €3m in bonuses.
“When I moved to Milan, it all happened so quickly that I never even stopped to ask myself what was going on,” he told TVP Sport.

“I am worth €38m now, but the next time I change club, I’d like it to be for €60-70m. I have to be ambitious and will work hard for that to happen. After all, I am at the start of my career, it’s only my second season in Serie A, one of the top five leagues in Europe.”
Piatek was given a warm welcome at San Siro following his transfer and found it a whole new world.
“I was shocked. In the first game against Napoli, I was wearing headphones, but could clearly hear the entire stadium singing my name and applauding. They treated me as if I’d been playing there for years and appreciated me from the first day.
“You can see my Instagram profile as well to see how my life has changed. When I left Poland, I had 5,000 followers, now I have 1.5m. I appreciate popularity and that fans want to have their pictures taken with me, but the most important thing is the football.”
That has proved an issue lately, as Milan supporters cooled on Piatek following a goal drought.

“I look in the mirror and try to take responsibility. At the start, as a team in general, we didn’t create many scoring opportunities. I am improving and I will get back to firing those guns (of his Pistolero celebration).
“Italian journalists treat you like the Pope of football one day and the worst player the next. I accept that and I’m not bothered by front page headlines.”

Italian Serie A giants Napoli are interested in signing league rivals AC Milan’s out-of-favour midfielder Franck Kessie in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old is looking set to leave the club in the upcoming mid-season transfer window as the Milan-based outfit are currently struggling to balance their books and are looking to sell few of their players in order to generate some funds.

As per the latest development, Napoli—who are also looking to sign a midfielder in order to bolster their midfield for the rest of the season—have now turned their attention towards Kessie and the club’s hierarchy have already established contact with the player’s representatives.

It is believed that the Naples-based club are more than happy with Milan’s minimum valuation of €16 million for the Ivory Coast international.

Kessie first joined Milan in 2017 on a two-year long loan and eventually joined the club permanently in the summer transfer window for a reported fee €24 million.

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign PSV midfielder Gaston Pereiro on a free transfer, according to a report.

Back in June, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Milan are interested in a move for Pereiro, who at that time was valued around the €20million mark.

The journalist also claimed that the Rossoneri have already been in contact with the player’s agent Paco Casal over a potential deal, with a meeting having taken place at the club’s headquarters.

Now, a report from Calciomercato.com claims that Pereiro has been proposed to Milan again by his agent, but this time the conditions have changed.

Given that the 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, he will be free to sign with another team from January onwards, and it is claimed that the player is desperate to move to Serie A.

The possibility of a move to Bologna is not ruled out for Pereiro, who amassed 10 goals and six assists in 27 Eredivisie appearances last season. He has 42 goals in 114 league games for PSV.

*Romagnoli: 'Milan to turn tide'*

Alessio Romagnoli assures Milan are focused on “turning the tide” as the struggling Rossoneri resume their season on Saturday against Napoli.

Romagnoli scored during Italy’s 9-1 win over Armenia on Monday, and the defender now wants to bring that feelgood factor to his club side, who are only 14th in Serie A.

“We hope to turn the tide as soon as possible,” he told Sport Mediaset.

“We are coming from a difficult period.”

The match is just as important for Napoli, who are on a five-game winless run...

“We are ready for Napoli and we are looking to leave everything we’ve got on the pitch.”

The 24-year-old has been an ever-present for Milan so far in 2019-20.
