The Rossoneri were heavily linked with a move for Everton AC Milan sent a scout to watch Gremio sensation Everton Soares in action over the weekend, according to reports from Brazil.

The Rossoneri were heavily linked with a move for Everton over the summer, with the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio even stating that (cited by MilanNews.it) Milan were looking at him as a potential alternative to Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa.

Calciomercato.com claimed back in September that the Brazil international has made it clear that he wants to play in Europe, and has even put Milan at the top of the list of preferences in terms of his next club .

According to the latest from Globoesporte – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan had a scout present at the Arena do Gremio to watch Everton in action against San Paolo, with the home side winning 3-0.
The 23-year-old has continued his impressive development in his home country, scoring 15 goals and adding seven assists in 40 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Among the other teams present were Monaco, Everton and Roma – and the Premier League side have been tipped to make a £30m (€35m) bid by Goa

Theo Hernández to Milan TV : “I’m very happy to have scored, we can’t relax, we need to keep working hard and getting better. It’s great to score the winning goal but the whole team worked hard. Without the hard work of the entire team, we wouldn’t have won tonight."

“The defense? As you’ve seen, I really like attacking. The coach would prefer if I didn’t get forward as much but it is part of my game [smiles]. I want to score and to help the team and like I said, I’m very happy to have scored the winning goal.

I’m working hard and this is the pay off. However, it was just one game, we can’t relax, we need to keep working hard and getting better."

“Conti? He played a great game, we all know he is a very gifted player, he just needs to keep building his confidence to play at his full potential. I’m very happy for him, we’re good friends and we’ll continue to improve. But like I said, we cannot afford to relax.

Still, the whole team played a great game and it was great to repay the fans for their support, they were great and we managed to win."

“The next matches? Now, we need to study this match to see what needs improving, I think we all have things we need to improve on, all of us can give more… However, this was a good win, now we need to repeat ourselves next match.”

Theo To Sky : “I am very happy for the goal, we played a great game and we must continue to work. Now there are other very important matches and we must continue to do well. I’m very happy to be here at Milan, I’m happy that the coach is giving me confidence. I also thank the fans for their support."

“The meeting with Maldini in Ibiza in the summer? It was a nice conversation, he convinced me to go to Milan. I can’t tell you what we said…. Leaving Real Madrid? When I was at Real I was well but I wasn’t playing and I needed to play. When I saw that Maldini gave me confidence, one of the strongest players in history, I didn’t think twice.”

“It was a very important game, we needed to win and it gives us confidence to face the next matches in the best way. Scoring? I try to give my best for the team and for myself. I’m happy if I can be decisive in bringing result"

Player Ratings: Parma 0-1 AC Milan – Theo the difference maker Piatek a ghost
By Madison Derian-Toth - 1 December 2019, 17:25
After 3 games with out a victory, Stefano Pioli was able to secure his second win as AC Milan boss with a 1-0 triumph at Parma.

Just as it looked like being two points dropped after a good performance, Theo Hernandez was the most alert to a rebound opportunity, slotting home after a Giacomo Bonaventura shot was parried to win the game in the 88th minute.

The win takes Milan into 11th spot, and here’s how the players got on at the Stadio Ennio Tardini…

Donnarumma (7): Donnarumma was not called into action much, but when he was he took care of business. Had a great save on an offside shot against Gervinho. Kept a well-deserved clean sheet.

Conti (7.5): His great form has continued this week with one of his best defensive games in a Milan shirt. Did a great job shutting down the Parma’s attack, especially late in the second half.

Musacchio (5): Not a very convincing game for the centre-back, but he played his part in a crucial clean sheet. Will need to do much better against the top teams.

Romagnoli (7): Typical game from the captain – he was able to keep the Parma attack at bay, while playing the ball forward effectively. Shut down the Parma attack on his own a few times in the second half. Much better judgement.

Hernandez (8 – MOTM): Has been playing great in his first season at Milan. He had a few good chances going forward in the first half, most notably when he and Piatek both missed. He was able to keep the Parma attack at bay with a solid overall defensive performance. Scored the go ahead goal in the 88th minute.

Kessie (5): Kessie had a decent start to the game, playing some good balls, but as the game went on, we saw more and more of the player that we have seen this season. Was subbed off in the 71’ for Krunic.

Bennacer (6): Good first game back from suspension, did well holding the midfield together. He is infinitely better than Lucas Biglia in his role; more energetic, faster and even tidier on the ball. A warrior.

Calhanoglu (5): Lacklustre performance from the winger, he has not been playing his best football this season. He had a few good crosses in the first half, and a couple of long shots in the second, but we expect more from the Turkish international.

Bonaventura (6): Always looks bright on the ball and wants to create, but was left frustrated mostly today. Looked better as a winger against Napoli than in midfield.

Piatek (4): Has been off the boil since the beginning of the season, only finding the back of the net three times, and it shows in his confidence. Needs to start playing better or will find himself on the bench.

Suso (6.5): Had a good performance, was able to get fire some shots on goal, but was not able to break the deadlock. He is still the most dynamic attacker that we have going forward, and it has shown in recent weeks.

Substitutes

Leao (5): Didn’t get many chances, but you could see that he has the vision that Piatek was lacking and the movement too.

Krunic (6): Came on the second half and made an immediate difference in the midfield, looking confident on the ball and making surging runs. Should be playing from the starting whistle.

🗣 Raiola issues blunt response to rumours Ibrahimovic has agreed #ACMilan return

The agent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Mino Raiola – refused to confirm or deny reports that his client has agreed a return to AC Milan.
The Rossoneri have made Ibrahimovic their number one strike target for January, with the team having scored just 13 goals in 14 league games this season.

It was reported earlier on Monday by newspaper il Corriere della Sera that Milan want to present him officially on December 15 at the club’s 120th birthday event – suggesting they are confident of striking a deal.

Then, English outlet the Telegraph – via journalist Mike McGrath – claimed on Monday evening that the 38-year-old has agreed a deal in principle with Milan until at least the end of the season.

After reading that news, Swedish outlet SportExpressen reached out to Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola, and he provided his usual coy response to suggestions that his client is ready to move back to Italy.
“Don’t you know me at all? I have no comment,” he said.

"Once I've finished my engagement with Ukraine, I'd really like to find a team to train in Italy. I'm just saying one thing: Forza Milan, always! ".

Bernard Arnault has opened up to the idea of buying AC Milan from Elliott Management, according to a report, and he has huge plans for the club if he were to take over.

It has been claimed in the media that Arnault – who recently became the richest man in fashion and has a net worth of over $102bn (as per Wikipedia) – is interested in buying the Rossoneri from Elliott.

Denials came from the Louis Vuitton group, yet more rumours then emerged claiming Arnault is still interested in the idea of buying Milan, and then unsurprisingly even more denials arrived.

So here we go again. La Repubblica have gone big with their report by claiming that pressure from economic advisors since may has forced Arnault to consider buying Milan.

If he were to take over, it would have ‘potentially sensational repercussions’: his major target would be to bring both Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola to the club, or alternatively Kylian Mbappe and Jurgen Klopp.

The paper even quotes Arnault as having said: “If I ever had to take a step like that [buying a club], I would like the best footballer in the world and the best coach,” a clear statement of his intent.

Meanwhile, Elliott Management’s project is somewhat stalling. The mediocre results of the team, the difficulties faced with the new stadium project and the 2019 budget being €146m in the red do not help.

Meanwhile, the stagnation in sponsorships just a few months away from the expiry of the contract with Emirates, the tensions between the sporting and financial side and the weakening position of CEO Gazidis weakened just add more adversity – meaning Elliott are not willing to invest much more.

Repubblica go on to add that the potential opening of Arnault is on the table of Paul Singer, and if a sale were to happen it would be before the end of the year and dependant on San Siro.

Elliott are determined to build a new structure, while Arnault and co. would push towards a re-structuring of the current San Siro

*Fassone: 'Milan wanted Ibrahimovic'*

Former Milan CEO Marco Fassone reveals they had already tried to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while praising Gennaro Gattuso’s performances.

His tenure was short-lived under Yonghong Li and he was axed along with director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli after the club was essentially repossessed by Elliot Management for unpaid loans.
“We had also suggested getting Ibrahimovic, and spoke to Mino Raiola at the time, but then we opted against it,” revealed Fassone on Tuttomercatoweb Radio.

“This could do with some stability, because too many changes in personnel both in the squad and on the bench creates instability. If they believe in these players, then they should keep going and earn their rewards over time.”

Gennaro Gattuso terminated his contract by mutual consent after missing out on the Champions League places by one point, but Milan are already on their second coach of the season after Stefano Pioli replaced Marco Giampaolo.

“I consider Rino to be an excellent coach who has qualities that go beyond his reputation of just being a gritty figure. He has excellent technical and tactical foundations, as well as being able to create an atmosphere where each player gives their all.
“Gattuso achieved strong results with a squad he did not put together and I hope he can soon get on to an important bench.
“Pioli found himself at Inter a few years ago and managed to turn a complex situation around. He is now in a similar position with Milan, but the pressure is on, being only four points away from the relegation zone.”

The wait for Ibrahimovic’s response continues, with AC Milan looking to secure the striker for the second half of the season. However, the negotiations are far from easy, as has become evident during the last few weeks.

According to Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), there are no particular positive feelings within the club about the ‘yes’ of Ibrahimovic, but rather an anxious wait. Even the player himself has made some changes during the negotiations.

Twenty days ago, per the report, he seemed to be confident and enthusiastic about the Rossoneri’s proposal, even for just six months. Furthermore, the economic part of things didn’t seem too important either.

However, then he asked for an 18-month contract, along with a very important salary. Milan, who were initially confident about the successful conclusion of the deal, is now awaiting Zlatan’s response, as the report concluded.

Ibrahimovic’s stance from returning to Milan has changed compared to two weeks ago. It’s a question of money: Milan believe they made an important offer while Zlatan wants more. The Rossoneri are waiting for his response. Either way they will sign an experienced striker [Sky]

*'Berlusconi has lived four lives!'*

Adriano Galliani has paid tribute to the “four lives“ of ex-Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, while revealing plans to take Monza into Serie A by 2021.

Galliani gave an interview to Il Corriere dello Sport, where he spoke in great length about his relationship with Berlusconi.

“I feel admiration for [Silvio] Berlusconi,“ he began.

“First, there was the builder. Whilst others were building apartments, he built Milano Duo [a neighbourhood] between 1970 and 1979."

“Second, he was the editor. He founded three [TV channels] to compete with Rai and invented private television in Italy.

“Third, football. In July 1987, we all met at Castello di Pomerio and he surprised us by saying, ‘this year we will win the League, next year we will win the European Cup, and in 1990 we will be No 1 in the world.’

“The fourth, as a politician. When, at the end of 1993, he decided to start a party, he said he would be Prime Minister within six months and, in May 1994, he was.”

Having sold Milan in 2017, Berlusconi then bought Monza, currently in Serie C, and again hired Galliani as his right-hand man.

However, the 74-year-old denies that the duo are applying their old model of outspending every other side to achieve success.

“This is our first year. We have spent €3m on the squad and €5m on the infrastructure: the training ground, the stadium and other things. Wages are a separate issue.”

Galliani says it didn’t take much convincing to entice Berlusconi back into the world of football.

“He’s lived in Arcore for 40 years, Villa San Martino is just two kilometres away from Monza. From there, you can see the lights of the Stadio Brianteo. I didn’t have to convince him.

“It took him about one minute and 15 seconds to say, ‘let’s do it.’ We both have a sense of cultivating a belonging, which is crucial in both football and in life.”

Monza are currently top of Serie C Group A, with Cristian Brocchi as coach, but could the former Rossoneri player be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti?

“In a year-and-a-half, when we’re in Serie A, I’ll call him!”

Bonaventura discusses his ’emotional’ return and the impact of Pioli’s arrival

Giacomo Bonaventura has insisted that Stefano Pioli has changed the situation at AC Milan and revealed his delight at returning from injury.
Bonaventura recently recovered from a long-term knee injury which required surgery. Before the 2-1 win over Genoa in round seven – Marco Giampaolo’s final game in charge – the last game he played before that was against Real Betis in the Europa League on October 25 2018.

Attention has now turned towards what the future holds for Bonaventura after a successful return to action, which included a goal against Napoli last month.

His contract expires at the end of the season, and La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it) claimed that Milan made it clear to agent Mino Raiola that they would like to keep the 30-year-old as they consider him a ‘precious element’.
Bonaventura gave an interview to Sky Italia, discussing his return from injury and what the future holds. His words were transcribed by MilanNews.it.

“I was happy to have done good performances, there was a little emotion, inside I knew I would come back to play even with good performances. I felt good, I knew my time would come,” he said.
“Being on the outside and seeing others play is a little annoying, but health comes first, I thought I could recover well. Probably I didn’t have the muscle strength to endure certain workloads at the beginning, now I I’m fit and I’m happy with my condition.

On his favoured role: “I try to do my best both as a winger and as a midfielder, the important thing is that the team has an organization so that the individual can do well.”

⏱ #ACMilan have not lost an away game against Bologna in over 17 years, a run dating back to 10 March 2002 when the Rossoneri lost 2-0.

*Maldini: 'Milan always get back up'*

Paolo Maldini has assured Milan fans that the club will “get back up” and offer them “top-quality football” again.

Milan are currently struggling to keep up with the top four this season, as seen by their midtable ranking of 11th in Serie A.

After sacking Marco Giampaolo only seven games into the campaign, Stefano Pioli was brought in to steady the ship.

Gennaro Gattuso lost his job over the summer after he failed to mastermind a return to the Champions League.

Performances to date on the field have not matched the Rossoneri’s ambition off of it, but Maldini is confident about the future.

“This club is about passion, elegance and ambition,” the club legend-turned-technical director told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We have fallen several times, always getting back up. We will do that this time too.”

“We have always been considered a technical team, trying to offer top-quality football.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic or no one. AC Milan, as reported by today's edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), has decided to focus solely on the Swedish international. In short, there is no plan B.

According to the newspaper, the Rossoneri directors haven't even considered the hypothesis of signing someone else. Therefore, they are going all-in for Ibrahimovic, having got the approval of owners Elliott Management.

For example, the Mandzukic option has already been set aside, in addition to several other opportunities on the market. With the exception of Ibrahimovic, Milan don't want to invest in players of the age of 30, as the report continues.

The offer on the table is a 6-month contract, with an option of extending it by a further 12 months, per the report. Should it be extended, then the Swede could earn up to €6m during his time with the Rossoneri.

Now, the ball is in Ibra's court. Milan remains his first choice, but he is also evaluating other opportunities. The possibility of playing in the Champions League with Napoli is tempting, as is the call of his friend Mihajlovic at Bologna.
