Thiago Silva thinking of Milan
Thiago Silva thinking of Milan
by Football Italia
Thiago Silva would be interested in a return to Milan after his PSG contract expires, it’s reported, but his salary might be too high.

The centre-back will turn 36 in September and he is widely expected to walk away at the end of this season.

He joined Paris Saint-Germain from Milan in a deal worth €42m in July 2012, alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Brazilian has never disguised his love for the Rossoneri and would relish a return to San Siro, just as Ibra did in January.

However, Tuttosport claim Thiago Silva’s wage demands might be excessive for the salary cap that owners Elliott Management are putting in place.

"I would like to go back to Europe, and it would be nice to do it in Milan. I was sad to see them in such a critical state for years. The club has to let him (Maldini) work. He knows what this club means and will be able to bring them back to the top." TeamMilanAC on Twitter

*Gasperini guarantees profits for Atalanta*

Atalanta spent just €93m for their current squad sitting fourth in Serie A, qualifying for the quarter-finals in the Champions League and making a profit of €71.82m on player trading under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Buying low and selling high, that sounds like a strategy for the stock market, but Gasperini’s Atalanta has proved that it can work to build a big brand in football too.
La Dea appointed coach Gasperini in June 2016 and have since achieved some excellent results on the pitch, but during his four and a half years at the club, the scouts and directors have been pulling the right strings behind the scenes as well.

Atalanta’s scouting system hasn’t surprised anyone, but the way they have managed to create a squad that can fight for a place in the Champions League and eventually qualifying for the quarter-finals in their first ever appearance in the tournament, can only be applauded.
The Orobici have already set a record in January, when Dejan Kulusevski signed for Juventus and was left on loan to Parma for the rest of the season.
The €35m transfer of the Sweden international was the latest in a long list of big sales for La Dea, who have made a profit of €46.7m on player trading alone in 2019-20, despite also spending €53.2m on new talent.
Since Gasperini arrived in Bergamo, Atalanta have sold players for a total amount of €247.93m, according to Transfermarkt and have paid €176.11m for new players, giving the club a €71.82m profit only on player trading.
According to Cies football observatory, the Atalanta squad cost only €93m, so their current squad of 22 players cost €57m less than the Sampdoria team struggling for survival at the other end.

The comparison with other Serie A sides in the top four is even more staggering, as Juventus spent €719m for the team currently at the top of the league, whilst third-placed Inter splashed out €364m.
Atalanta transfer figures from 2016 to 2020:
2019-20: Signings: €53.2m - Sales: €99m - League Position: 4th*
2018-19: Signings: €53.5m - Sales: €21.56m - League Position: 3rd
2017-18: Signings: €55.11m - Sales: €86.04m - League Position: 7th
2016-17: Signings: €14.34m - Sales: €41.33m - League Position: 4th

AC Milan held secret meeting with Man City star

Posted on April 7, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan are seriously interested in signing Manchester City midfielder David Silva who is available on a free transfer.

At the end of the season David Silva will leave Manchester City on a free transfer. His contract expires on June 2020. After ten seasons with the citizens, the 34-year-old Spanish superstar is ready for a new experience.

It will be interesting to see if he chooses to stay in Europe in a competitive championship or if he prefers to land in a less demanding league. In China, United States, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Japan there are multiple clubs that would welcome the World Cup winner as a real star. However, there is no shortage of European options for David Silva including AC Milan.

According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan are seriously interested in signing David Silva. The Italian newspaper reports that AC Milan have held a recent meeting with the player’s agent expressing their interest in bringing the Spanish midfielder to the Rossoneri.

Despite Silva’s age, the 34-year-old midfielder could bring the necessary experience and winning mentality that a young squad like AC Milan desperately needs. Thus, Milan owners Elliot Management, are ready to sanction a move for the assist king. This season Silva has made 28 appearances with Manchester City scoring 3 goals and assisting 8.

The philosophy of the new AC Milan management is to focus mainly on young people but experienced veterans are always needed. The return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has highlighted how much the inclusion of a mature players with personality can have a very positive impact on the rest of the squad. An exemplar professional like David Silva, still tactically and technically valid, could serve AC Milan a lot.

AC Milan owner Elliot Management has approved the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca reports CorSport.

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik is not the only centre forward on AC Milan’s radar. According to CorSport, the Rossoneri are also very interested on Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca. The 21-year-old Italian, dubbed the young Ibrahimovic, could rejuvenate the attacking department of Milan by continuing on the transfer policy depicted by Elliott for the Rossoneri’s future.

After an unsuccessful tentative last January, Milan are preparing a revamped attempt to sign Scamacca on a permanent transfer or on loan with the obligation to buy. There is plenty of time to find the proper solution but the Rossoneri have intensified their interest in Gianluca Scamacca recently trying to avoid the competition of other clubs.

The Italy Under-21 striker has made 25 appearances this season scoring 11 goals with Ascoli establishing himself as one of the best payers in Serie B. Ibrahimovic is Scamacca’s idol and having the opportunity to join Zlatan at Milan is a huge plus factor for the Rossoneri. Corriere dello sport reports that, after changing a lot of clubs is recent years, the former Roma prodigy is ready to make a big leap forward and join a top team.

Since 2016 Gianluca Scamacca has traveled around Europe gaining maturity and experience. At 16 the Italian centre forward initially moved to Psv Eindhoven. He played again in Netherlands for Pec Zwolle while for the past years he has been owned by Sassuolo but with loan spells at Cremonese and Ascoli.

His performances at Ascoli have attracted the attention not only of AC Milan but also of other famous clubs such as Napoli and Benfica. The Portuguese have already offered 10 million euros but their bid was rejected. In addition to playing with Ibrahimovic, with Elliot’s approval, AC Milan are ready to offer up to €20 million to secure the services of Gianluca Scamacca.

The club must let Maldini work free, he knows the players' heads, he knows what this club means and he is able to bring it back to the top. I hope he can have a long career at the Rossoneri.

The owners must focus on people like Paolo and give them the necessary tranquility to do their job. I played with Maldini and I know what he can give to Milan.

As a teammate he gave me advice and helped, once we also clashed but he is a very straightforward person. We speak regularly, the last time was two weeks ago.

Elliott Management have invested a huge sum of money into AC Milan so far, a report claims, and the fund has a plan to help the Rossoneri recover.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive ) reports on Wednesday, sustainability and self-financing are the key words for the rebirth of Milan.

It was Gordon Singer who chose Ivan Gazidis for the administration of the club having seen the Arsenal model, of which he is a fan, and so he decided to propose recreating it with the South African as the main architect.

The logic pursued by Gordon is in line with that of the fund he represents: yes to financial strength, yes to prospective players and yes to their development.

The fund – who are worth $40billion – have not yet found the right way for the Rossoneri. Singer and Gazidis, in fact, do not seem to have completely familiarised themselves with the club’s environment yet, but now the turning point is urgent.

Investments have certainly not been lacking so far. The first €180million had been loaned initially to Yonghong Li, then another €128m were paid for two bonds, then the capital injections of €32.4m (June 2018), then €265.5m in 2018-19 and finally €60m between July and September 2019. The total investment in Milan has therefore been €525million
