AC Milan make final decision on Daniel Maldini’s future
Posted on September 11, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan talent Daniel Maldini is doing promising things so far with the first team but is it enough for him to stay with the Rossoneri this season.
In this pre-season phase AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is evaluating the availability and growth of some young people in his squad. One of the most promising talents of AC Milan is certainly Daniel Maldini.

The son of the legendary Paolo and grandson of the great Cesare impressed in the friendly match against Monza, scoring a splendid goal under the eyes of his father. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder made his official debut with the Rossoneri last season.

Daniel is primarely an attacking midfielder but can also play as winger on both sides. A talented player with a refined right foot and fast pace. Daniel Maldini will try, even if it will be almost impossible, to move along the lines of his family and predecessors within AC Milan.

Meanwhile, according to La Repubblica, the club has already decided his future. AC Milan want to keep Maldini junior close. Thus AC Milan have refused every loan offer for the 18-year-old gem.

Many thought Maldini could benefit from playing at least one season away from home, on loan in Serie B or low-ranking Serie A club. Milan, however, has refused the advances of every club. Daniel is part of the first team squad and will become a resource for Mr. Pioli, learning and maturing from the big Milan players.

AC Milan planning surprising signing in midfield
Posted on September 12, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan want to close as soon as possible the signing of another midfielder but is finding it more difficult than expected.
AC Milan did not think they would find all these difficulties in signing a new midfielder. The Rossoneri had been hoping to close a quick deal for Bakayoko but Chelsea are proving to be a very tough negotiator.

Same situation for Boubakary Soumare and Florentino Luis. Lille and Benfica (are open for loan) ask for disproportionate fees that the Rossoneri do not want to spend. In the meantime, Bakayoko himself has refused a recent offer for Crystal Palace and is putting pressure on Chelsea to accept Milan’s bid.

For this reason, AC Milan are studying alternatives reports Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews.it). Perhaps easier to reach, in order not to keep the market blocked for too long. The Rossoneri could make a surprise signing, a name that has not been publicly linked with the Red and Black club.

While Bakayoko still remains on top of the club’s list of targets, Maldini is looking around for other options. AC Milan have informed Chelsea that they have no intention of paying more than 23 million euros for a player that has never been constant in his performances.

The other task on Maldini’s to-do list is the signing of another centre back. The club intends to wait until the very last days of the summer transfer window in order to find the best opportunity.

Kjaer: 'Milan aim to improve and win games'

By Football Italia staff

Milan defender Simon Kjaer said it was ‘a pleasure to play with’ Matteo Gabbia against Brescia and hopes to build on the great run with a win in the first competitive game against Shamrock Rovers on Thursday.

The Denmark international said the preparation has been ‘strange’ but looks forward to ‘improve and win games’.

“I was happy to have been called up to the national team and I was happy when I returned here too,” he told Milan TV.

“This year’s preparation is strange.”

The Rossoneri concluded the preparation with a 3-1 win against Brescia and Kjaer praised his colleague Gabbia, who stepped up in the absence of Alessio Romagnoli in the heart of the defence.

“Knowing the automatism for the central defenders is important and it’s a pleasure to play with him,” Kjaer added.

The new season starts with the qualifier against Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League and the 31-year-old hopes to see the Diavolo continue to build on their great run from the end of 2019-20.

“Our target is to improve further and win games, starting on Thursday.”

Léo Duarte to Esporte Interativo: "I arrived in Milan at two, three weeks, I felt a lot of intensity in training, but it hadn't started yet, I had just arrived, I wanted to show it. I couldn't bear the pain, I started taking medicine so that the pain would disappear "

Léo Duarte: "It ended that I debuted, I started playing. When I played four games, I no longer had pain. There were days when I had to take three pills a day to avoid pain."

Léo Duarte: "I did some tests here in Italy and there was nothing, the MRI said I had nothing. They spoke to a doctor in Sweden and we went there. There, with 10 minutes of examination, he saw that it was broken. That was when I had to stop for four months "

MilanNews reported on Friday that confirmations have arrived regarding rumours that Freiburg have made an offer of €7-8million for Krunic.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Milan are hoping to sign another midfield to compliment the trio of Ismael Bennacer, Franck Kessie and Sandro Tonali, but Krunic must be sold first.

The 26-year-old has been put on the market and could leave for a figure that is around €8m. Freiburg have bid €7m, but the player seems unconvinced by the destination.

Torino insists on signing him as Marco Giampaolo is keen to reunite with the player he coached and Empoli, but in the last few hours Benevento have also thrown their names into the hat.

MN: Ibrahimovic wants to play against Shamrock Rovers but his replacement is ready

There are only four days left until AC Milan’s season officially restarts in the Europa League preliminaries against Shamrock Rovers in Dublin.

According to MilanNews, the biggest question mark regarding selection for Stefano Pioli concerns Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede started the first two friendly matches against Novara (4-2) and Monza (4-1), but was absent in the next two matches against Vicenza (5-1) and Brescia (3-1) because he is recovering from a bruised leg.

The striker is still trying to recover for Thursday’s match against Shamrock Rovers and should be able to make the game, but in case he is not ready then 18-year-old Lorenzo Colombo is on pole position to take his spot.

He scored three goals in three preseason games, making him the top scorer of preseason together with Samu Castillejo.

The other question is who will take the place on the left wing with Ante Rebic disqualified. Pioli has tried several players in that position. The most impressive was Daniel Maldini, but it is likely that in the end the coach will opt for a player with more experience, MilanNews concludes.

Two LaLiga clubs have expressed an interest in signing midfielder Lucas Paqueta from AC Milan before the window ends, a report claims.

It is seemingly no secret that Paqueta does not feature in the Rossoneri’s plans for the upcoming season, and several sources have reported that his exit could unlock the incoming market.

According to Monday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Paqueta has indeed been told that he’s allowed to leave Milan this summer.

The Brazilian is liked by Lyon who, however, have not yet come forward with a bid of €22-23m, which is the amount Milan would request in order to avoid a loss on the balance sheets.

However, the paper adds that Paqueta is also attracting the interest of two Spanish clubs, with Real Betis and Valencia the latest interested parties.

Paqueta has amassed just one goal and three assists in 44 appearances for Milan since his big-money arrival from Flamengo.

AC Milan and Fiorentina are working under the radar on a deal for winger Federico Chiesa, according to a report.

Monday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports how after Sandro Tonali, the Rossoneri have decided to focus their sights on another young Italian talent in Chiesa.

After initially seeming like a pipe dream for Milan, the paper claims that it has become a real and concrete negotiation which is happening under the radar.

Many contacts have taken place between Milan and Fiorentina over the last few weeks, with centre-back Nikola Milenkovic the initial target but with discussions having shifted to see Chiesa as the main protagonist.

Inter and Juventus are also keen on the Italy international, who Viola president Rocco Commisso could sell for around €40m despite his current request of €60m.

The deal remains difficult also because Maldini and Massara still want to pursue Milenkovic first, a player that Pioli has requested as a reinforcement for the defence.

Milan and Fiorentina are trying to work quietly, and the lack of disclosure by both Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt on the Ante Rebic deal – of which Fiorentina are an interested spectator due to their resale clause – suggests that between the Rossoneri and La Viola there may be an agreement regarding the names of the two Rossoneri targets Chiesa and Milenkovic.

The arrival of Commisso in Florence this week could be significant in order to decide the future of two of his prized assets.

Milan and Fiorentina have begun contacts for Chiesa. Milan, however must sell Lucas Paqueta and Rade Krunic before they can buy Chiesa. For Milenkovic, Milan are planning to offer a loan ala similar to a Tonali deal [GdS]

Maldini discusses Chiesa rumours and 'unthinkable' Tonali deal as he hints at defensive signing #SempreMilan

Paolo Maldini has claimed that there are no talks with Fiorentina over Federico Chiesa as he shed light on the ‘unthinkable’ Sandro Tonali deal.
Last week it was confirmed that Milan had completed a deal with Brescia to sign the 20-year-old talent on an initial loan with option to buy, beating competition from city rivals Inter.
It represents a statement signing for the Elliott Management era and by director duo Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, with a lot of media attention generated by the coup.
Technical director Paolo Maldini spoke to Sky Italia about the Tonali deal, with his words transcribed by MilanNews.
“He is a 2000 class, he is very young, he fulfilled his dream, it is a beautiful story, it is a very special thing,” he said.
“It was unthinkable even a month ago, we got to this point thanks to the determination of the boy and the work of the agents. Cellino was a person of absolute value, thanks also to our owners who changed course.”
On the player’s passion for Milan: “It’s not that common, the players are professionals, they have to evaluate the prospects. I spoke with Tonali almost two months ago and told him that we are there for him.
“Our common hope was to bring him to Milan, ensuring that he didn’t lose this dream. We got to the point that things aligned and we managed to bring him to Milan.”

Maldini was also asked about Milan’s reported pursuit of another young domestic talent in Federico Chiesa after reports over the last few days that talks are accelerating. The former Rossoneri captain remained coy.
“He is one of the best young Italians, but there has never been a negotiation with Fiorentina for Chiesa, this is the current state of affairs.”
On his relationship with the owners and Boban, he added: “There are common goals, sometimes the ideas are conflicting, but with a common line things are very natural.
“The results obtained post-lockdown are evident and the result of planning that had already started last year. The fact that Boban is not here saddens me, he is a dear friend of mine, without him we are less strong but we try to arrive at a common idea.”
Milan open the season on Thursday with a Europa League second qualifying round game against Shamrock Rovers.
“We are ready, I hope so, it’s a game that scares us a lot, it’s a team that is doing well, first in their league, we have some problems, Rebic suspended, Leao injured. We play away from home in a knockout game, we are very worried,” he said.

According to @CorSport Alessio #Romagnoli should return from injury for the Crotone-Milan match, the second game of the Serie A season 2020-21, which will be played on the 27 September.

Milan have updated the registered list for the Europa League ahead of Thursday’s match against Shamrock Rovers, including Ciprian Tatarusanu, Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz.

The three new players will be available for Milan’s first match in 2020-21, when they travel to Ireland this week for the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

Ante Rebic has been included in the squad to serve his three-match suspension, a ban he carries with him from his time with Eintracht Frankfurt in the competitionIf Milan win all three qualifying rounds, Rebic will have served his suspension and could take part from the first match in the group stage of the competition.
