Following their 3-0 win over rivals Inter, AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has revealed that Rossoneri coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is safe from any possible sacking.

The ex-Sampdoria boss was under fire for a poor run of form early on in the season; however, with just two defeats in 15 games, Milan find themselves just six points off a Champions League berth.
“I’d like to congratulate Sinisa,” Berlusconi started. “He’s now safer of course, coaches live on results.”

Milan are scheduled to take on Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Wednesday with hopes of continuing from where they left off against Inter in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.
The Rossoneri however are in sixth, five points off their city-rivals, and six points off Fiorentina who occupy the final Champions League place.

AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is pleased with the way his team played against Inter and wants them to continue in the same manner.

The second Derby della Madonnina of the current Serie A season saw the Rossoneri claim a 3-0 victory, with a Mauro Icardi penalty miss proving to be decisive as Carlos Bacca, M’Baye Niang and Alex all got their names on the scoresheet.

“I’m glad [the penalty] was decisive, if we conceded a goal who knows how it would have ended,” Mihajlovic told Premium Sport after the game.

Milan played arguably one of their best performances in a long time and Mihajlovic was happy with their personality, but believes they can still improve on their finishing.

“We have to keep this mentality and this spirit, there are things to improve on but that is normal,” he said.
“We take advantage of few opportunities and exploiting most of them would present a different story.”

Milan are now just six points outside of the top three in the Serie A table after the win.

AC Milan claimed their second Serie A win of 2016 with a convincing 3-0 victory over Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night.

Milan showed that they were getting back to their best with a dominating derby performance, which saw Alex open the scoring before conceding a penalty which Mauro Icardi missed. That proved to be a turning point as Carlos Bacca and M’Baye Niang grabbed a goal each later on.

Stunning choreography from the fans inside the San Siro made for an exciting atmosphere and it appeared to fuel players on early on, with a terrific sprint from Niang in the second minute setting the pace, although it led to nothing.

Milan defender Alex had a strong game, consistently blocking strikes and crosses from the likes of Eder and Stevan Jovetic and the Brazilian can be named as the reason the Rossoneri still had a clean sheet at the half hour mark.

He then got his reward a few minutes later when he went up for a corner, and his height proved to be an advantage as he headed home to give Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men the lead from a Keisuke Honda cross.
Alex’s superb match took a nasty turn just before 70 minutes, however, when he brought down substitute Icardi in the box, although luck was on his side as Icardi struck the post.

They paid for that miss a few minutes later when Bacca doubled the Diavolo’s lead when he tapped home a brilliant cross from Niang.

Three points were secured when Niang got a goal for his efforts a few minutes afterwards as he directed home a rebound as his shot was initially blocked, and some weak Inter defending proved costly once again.

Mihajlovic and his men now sit just six points outside the top three in the Serie A table in sixth, while Inter are in fourth.

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that midfielder Nigel De Jong is in talks to join LA Galaxy.

The Netherlands midfielder had been heavily rumoured to be joining the Major League Soccer outfit in recent days, with the Los Angeles team looking to add further strength after the signings of Ashley Cole and Jelle van Damme.

Galliani moved to confirm with
Premium Sports that talks were underway, but said the transfer had not been fully concluded.

“There are ongoing negotiations, but only when there are signatures do things end,” the Italian said.

“I will tell all when everything is done.
“I can confirm, however, that a negotiation with LA Galaxy is set to result in a sale of De Jong to the team.”

De Jong has had a reduced role under AC Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic, making only five appearances this season.
He joined the club in 2012 from English Premier League giants Manchester City.

De Jong says goodbye to his teammates, set to leave Milan and join LA Galaxy in the next days
