Calciomercato exclusively understand that while AC Milan are keen on signing Leandro Paredes, Zenit are asking for a fee of 35 million euros to part ways with the Argentine midfielder.

The former Roma man joined Zenit in the summer of 2017 for a fee of about 23 million euros. Since then, he has become a very important player for the Russian side. This season, the midfielder has appeared in 15 league games for Zenit, scoring thrice and assisting twice.

Our transfer expert Fabrizio Romano exclusively understands that while Paredes is only an alternative to Milan's chase of Cesc Fabregas, they are serious about him and Zenit have made it clear that they want a fee of 35 million euros to let him go.It is also stated by Romano that Paredes will be keen on a move back to Italy and would jump on the chance to do the same whenever the right offer arrives.

Milan have been following him and Stefano Sensi and they would want them as alternative for Fabregas, for whom Milan have began making concrete steps for.

Gennaro Gattuso blamed his own players for Milan’s Europa League exit to Olympiacos. “If you fall apart when something goes wrong, you deserve to go out.”
The Rossoneri could’ve afforded to lose here 1-0 or 2-1, but the 3-1 result in Athens decided by a very controversial penalty proved their undoing.
It’s the first time since 1999-00 that Milan have failed to get out of the group phase in a European tournament.

“There is a great deal of disappointment. We must first of all not forget the millions of Milan fans out there,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“We had the game in hand, but when creating eight scoring opportunities in a stadium like this and then falling apart the moment things go wrong, you deserve to go out.
“We’ve shown we are still not good enough to get the game on track when we have the chance. It’s true, there were some debatable refereeing decisions, but if you create eight chances in this atmosphere and then after the first sign of difficulty you start making stupid mistakes, it’s only right we go home, because we don’t deserve to go further. We gifted the game.
“We mustn’t allow the opponents into the game and I think at the moment that lack of experience is the main problem for us.
“We’ve got to get out there with determination, with fire. Hakan Calhanoglu and Samu Castillejo went into the penalty area a couple of times, but with no determination.
“We gifted the game, there are no excuses and we have to take the responsibility. OK, you can talk about them throwing extra balls on to the pitch and the weird trumpet noise, but we should focus on what we can do to make Milan a better team.
“It’s a difficult atmosphere, but that mustn’t be an excuse. The referee penalised us too, but we could’ve won it anyway. We often look like we do things without much belief, as if we don’t want to hurt the opposition.
“We were only struggling on set plays, as they have very tall players, but to go out to Olympiacos like this is really irritating. We are stronger than this Olympiacos side and I remain convinced of that.
“Passing smartly is all well and good, but it’s meaningless without heart. Last season too against Arsenal, there were errors from the referee, but we made the same mistakes too.
“We are left with regrets, I am furious because we could’ve been stronger even than all the incidents and emerged with qualification.
“Olympiacos never really troubled us until we fell asleep on the first corner. That is what I can’t understand. It’s like seeing a team that didn’t prepare at all. It drives me crazy, as I spend hours drilling them on set play routines and they huff at me for taking too long over it, but evidently I need to do it even more.
“This defeat is really difficult to swallow. I’m struggling.”
Bologna are up next in Serie A, as Milan try to hang on to fourth place.
“We’ve got to analyse the game and understand why we lost, not act like victims. The team played with quality, but conceded three goals and it highlighted where we are lacking at the moment, which is that we’re naïve, concede goals because we’re not concentrated and we have to work on these areas.
“It hurts, there’s no point denying it. It hurts.”

Coach Gattuso presented himself at the post-match press conference in Athens, at the end of Olympiacos 3 1 AC Milan and after the Rossoneri's elimination in the Europa League. Here are his comments:
GRAY AWAY MATCH
"The great atmosphere in Greece is nothing new, the fans are the twelfth man on the pitch, but they do not play. I was well aware that Olympiacos would be a tough opponent for us, just like Real Betis. We had the misfortune to have to decide our fate on the last matchday here and we were too naive. Technically, the team got the finishing phase wrong. We have to improve on concentration and covering the pitch better".
RESPONSIBILITIES
"On our part, we had some unjust decisions against us but I do not believe in any sort of conspiracy. We were unlucky because the penalty was non-existent. It is fair that we have been knocked out though, I am not looking for excuses: they were better than us because they were energetic and determined, I apologize to all the Rossoneri fans around the world for not having achieved our objective".
FORWARDS AND FINISHING
"Higuain could have been better with his finishing and in the ballistics. Cutrone? I messed up the sub and I take full responsibility for it. The team was present, they fought hard and we got our finishing wrong: this was our main problem. We had to be more decisive when we were in open field. Instead, we barely tested our opponents. We did not make much progress as per wisdom and experience, we are very displeased because we always make the same mistakes over and over again".

Gennaro Gattuso has the next three Serie A rounds to secure his Milan future or could be axed, according to Sport Mediaset.
The tactician remains under fire after their shock Europa League group round exit to Olympiacos.
Although his side remains in fourth place in the Italian top flight, the Rossoneri have drawn their last two games 0-0 against Torino and Bologna.
According to the latest reports, Milan have given Gattuso until the end of December to prove himself in the role or they’ll make a change.
The next three fixtures are against Fiorentina, Frosinone and SPAL, so one direct competitor for Europe and two relegation strugglers.
Options to replace Gattuso mid-season could include Roberto Donadoni, another former player of the club in its heyday, or ex-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle to sign one of AC Milan’s most promising youth players, Raoul Bellanova, according to Italian journalist Davide Russo de Cerame.

The 18-year-old is an Italy under-20 international right-back and considered one of the best talents of his age group in Italy.

According to Russo de Cerame, Bellanova has told Milan that he will not be renewing his contract, which expires in June 2019, and is heading to the English champions.

It is claimed that City have an agreement in principle to sign Bellanova, and a deal could be made official in February.

Famed AC Milan news outlet MilanNews.it also reports that City are interested in the teenager, but their information is less final, with Tottenham and a host of Italian clubs, including Juventus and Sampdoria, also linked. Both sources agree that Bellanova could be on his way out of the San Siro, after failing to agree a new contract.

City’s current first-choice right-back is Kyle Walker, 28, with the main rotation option Danilo, 27, often injured of late leaving City with a lack of cover in the position. John Stones recently had to play at right-back against Hoffenheim, struggling in the role which led to Walker replacing him at half-time. If Bellanova is signed, then Guardiola will have a new young option for the position.

Jose Mauri to Sky: "Milan v Fiorentina? I will do my best, I expect a great game, I am mentally ready. My contract will expire in June, I hope to earn a renewal."

Chelsea plot Higuain-Morata swap deal with AC Milan
According to the latest reports out of Italy, Chelsea are thinking about bringing in Gonzalo Higuain this winter transfer window, as Sarri is requesting a new striker.

In fact, as reported by Sky Italia reporter Angelo Mangiante, The Blues are trying to understand if Milan are willing to sell their star, potentially involving Alvaro Morata in the negotiations. The Spaniard wanted a return to Italy in the summer, though it never materialized.

Sarri believes that Higuain is the ideal striker for his team, and thus Chelsea would be willing to propose a Morata-Higuain swap deal.
However, it remains to be seen what the terms of such a deal would be.

Milan reportedly considering a surprise swoop for Man Utd striker Rashford

an hour ago / autty

Milan are reportedly considering a surprise swoop for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.

According to Corriere della Sera, Milan view Rashford as an alternative to Alexandre Pato and ‘will attempt an assault in the coming weeks’.
However, the newspaper does not disclose whether the Rossoneri are pursuing a loan deal or permanent transfer.
The England starlet is highly regarded by United but has started just nine Premier League games this season and scored only four goals.
The Diavolo, meanwhile, are in the market for a new striker after missing out on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while doubts grow over Gonzalo Higuain’s future.

*Wenger emerging as the hot favourite to take Gattuso over at Milan (TMW)26 minutes* ago / autty

Arsene Wenger is emerging as the hot favourite to t ake over at Milan after Gennaro Gattuso suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Fiorentina.

The tactician’s job is on the line following today’s Serie A setback, decided by a Federico Chiesa strike.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, if the Rossoneri don’t get full points against relegation strugglers Frosinone and SPAL, Gattuso will be sacked before the New Year.

Former Arsenal legend Wenger is the favourite, especially now that Ivan Gazidis – ex-CEO of the Gunners – has taken over at Milan.

Another less likely option would be Roberto Donadoni, who parted company with Bologna by mutual consent over the summer.

Multiple sources now claim Juventus have a deal to take
Aaron Ramsey as a free agent from Arsenal with a €10m per
year salary.

The Welsh international’s current contract with Arsenal expires
in June and from next month he’ll be free to negotiate with
any other club.
Although Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running, it’s
reported Inter baulked at the wage demands and pulled out.
The Corriere dello Sport, Tuttosport, Sky Sport Italia and
others all confidently state that Ramsey has chosen to join
Juventus in the summer of 2019.
After breaking the bank for Cristiano Ronaldo’s €31m per year
deal, the Bianconeri are prepared to pay €10m for Ramsey,
because he arrives without a transfer fee.
It means they can spread out the cost of the operation more
effectively.
Juve already beat stiff competition to coax Emre Can from
Liverpool last summer in a similar situation.

Milan are believed to be interested in Manolo Gabbiadini, but Southampton won’t accept a loan with option to buy.

The Rossoneri are looking to bolster their attacking options in January, but Luis Muriel seems determined to join Fiorentina.

According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, technical director Leonardo is keen to bring Gabbiadini back to Serie A.

Saints value him at around €15m, but would be willing to do business for around €12m.

However, the structure of the deal is major sticking point, as the English club won’t let Gabbiadini leave on loan with an option to buy.

The only way Southampton will consider a loan is if there’s an obligation to make the deal permanent, but Financial Fair Play means Milan cannot commit to spending that money.

Next season’s budget will be dependent on Champions League qualification, with Paolo Maldini already admitting that is central to signing Gonzalo Higuain and Tiémoué Bakayoko outright.

However, they’ve had to deal with an injury crisis hitting them in defence and midfield in recent months, leaving Gattuso short of quality options.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they could be set to take action in January to address those flaws in the squad, with a double swoop touted for Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini and Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi.
After decent spells with Sampdoria and Napoli, Gabbiadini has struggled in England since moving in 2016, bagging 12 goals in 55 appearances for the Saints.
Nevertheless, a return to Italy could bring the best out of him again, while his ability to create for others and his versatility to play in different roles could lead to a big move to San Siro.
As for Sensi, the 23-year-old has continued to quietly impress, establishing himself as a key figure for Sassuolo as they continue to push for European qualification.
However, they are not the only two options on the table for Milan it seems, as Calciomercato add that they are also considering Yannick Carrasco, although it remains to be seen what offer is needed to prise him away from Dalian Yifang.
Given his previous experience of playing at Atletico Madrid and the quality that he possesses, he would arguably be a fantastic addition for Milan.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato also add that Kevin-Prince Boateng would accept a return to the Rossoneri, having enjoyed two previous spells with the Italian giants, the first of which led to a Serie A title in 2011.
Time will tell if such a move could materialise this month, but what is clear is that with Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura still sidelined, coupled with the lack of depth beyond Gonzalo Higuain and Patrick Cutrone up front, the midfield and attack are in real need of being strengthened this month if Milan wish to get back to Europe’s top table.

Leonardo: "The meeting on Friday [with UEFA] will not give us definitive indications. We are able to make offers of loans with option to buy, but it does not necessarily mean that it will be accepted every time. We had things ready, but time passes."

Milan director Leonardo had harsh words for Gonzalo Higuain, while confirming there were “no formal offers for Fabio Borini or Alen Halilovic.”
He spoke to the media after the presentation Press conference for Lucas Paquetá and did not hold back on unsettled Higuain.
“He has to make a decision and take on his share of the responsibility,” said Leo. “Not this continual yes, no, I’m not sure. He had a tough moment, he has to put it behind him and get to work.
“There’s no point following rumours and gossip. He is here right now. Seeing as he is here, he needs to get down and actually do something for this team.
“A goal can change things, but if he is to continue here, he needs to take on responsibility.”
Higuain is on loan from Juventus with €36m option to buy, but also linked with a possible January move to Chelsea.
Leonardo also discussed possible exits for Borini to Shenzhen FC and Halilovic to Besiktas.
“We received no formal offers for Borini or Halilovic. There are 30 players in the squad, clearly someone has to leave. Riccardo Montolivo? We’ll see.”
So much of Milan’s strategy is uncertain, as they will have another meeting with UEFA on Friday to discuss Financial Fair Play penalties.
“Time passes by and meanwhile we are losing opportunities. It’s unlikely they’ll give us any real indications on Friday. We can work on loan deals with options to buy, but not everyone is prepared to accept that.”
