So far AC Milan have announced only two signings. Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic are the first players purchased by Maldini and Boban in their new adventure as head of the Rossoneri management. Ismael Bennacer will surely be the third signing after the end of Africa’s Cup of Nations.

The Rossoneri are very active on the transfer market with many agents arriving daily at Casa Milan. Alessandro Lucci, in the company of former club legend Serginho, has visited Casa Milan more than any other agent. Lucci represents two Milan players, Davide Calabria and Suso, but his visits have been of another nature.

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti reveals that the motive behind Lucci’s frequent visits has been Juventus. Juventus have offered Mattia Perin and Juan Cuadrado to AC Milan. Both players are clients of Alessandro Lucci. Unlike what other media have reported, Perin and Cuadrado are not part of a bid to sign Milan star Suso in a swap deal.

Perin aims to play with Italy in the upcoming European Champions. He wants more play time and will certainly leave Juventus this summer after Buffon’s return. However, AC Milan are not interested in him. Gigio Donnarumma will likely stay at Milan so the Rossoneri have no need of signing another goalkeeper.

AC Milan have also rejected the opportunity to purchase Juan Cuadrado. Coach Marco Giampaolo will play with a 4-3-1-2 game system this year so there is no need to sign additional wingers. Furthermore, the age of Cuadrado, 31-years-old, makes him an unsuitable player for Elliot’s project. The club will make important investments but only for players under 25.
 
With the departure of Cristian Zapata, Ignazio abate and Mattia Caldara unavailable for long, AC Milan need to sign a new centre back. After Theo Hernandez, the Rossoneri are is search of another purchase to complete the back line with German Pezzella the new name.

The Rososneri appreciate Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren but aren’t willing to invest a lot for a 30-year-old player. Gianluca Mancini was perhaps Paolo Maldini’s top pick but the young Atalana defender costs 30 million euros and will likely join Roma. Thus Fiorentina’s defender is the new name in Rossoneri’s orbit.

Fiorentina signed the “the tank” on a permanent for nearly €10 million from Real Betis last year. The 28-year-old has made 66 Serie A appearances in two years in Italy. Despite his good performances it seems unlikely that Milan match Fiorentina’s asking price.
 
Today at Casa Milan, a day of meetings for the rossoneri, including one with representatives from SportsTotal, an agency with a number of clients in Germany, and the club came away with an interesting name for the future.

Dayot Upamecano, defender from RB Leipzig. 1998-born Upamecano is was an appealing profile to Milan, but the reqeusts from his club are very high, despire his current contract expiring in 2021.

Milan are ready to offer Ceballos a leading role and involve the player at the club. In this sense, the face and words of Maldini and Boban could make the difference.
The next 10 days are decisive and will very likely determine the midfielder's next destination.
 
Krzysztof Piatek has revealed he “can’t wait” for the new season after taking the famous AC Milan No.9 shirt.

It was revealed on Tuesday that the Poland international has decided to change his number as he will now be the new number nine for the Rossoneri.

Piatek had a superb season in 2018-19 for both Genoa and Milan in Serie A and the Polish national team, and he will be hoping for more of the same in 2019-20.

Piatek wrote the following message on: “I can’t wait to start this new season. I also can’t wait to hop on the pitch wearing this new number 9 jersey. Let’s go!”

George Weah of course won the Ballon d’Or while wearing the No.9 for Milan, and since then it has been worn by Gianni Comandini, Pippi Inzaghi, Alexandre Pato, Alessandro Matri, Mattia Destro, Fernando Torres, Luiz Adriano, Gianluca Lapadule, Andre Silva and Gonzalo Higuain.
 
Confirmations have arrived that Milan are interested in Fiorentina captain German Pezzella.

Fiorentina want €20m for the central defender. Milan met with his agent at Casa Milan yesterday.

According to the latest reports, AC Milan have set their sights on Joaquin Correa, Lazio’s 24-year-old winger. In fact, an offer has already been presented to the Olimpico side.

The Argentinian winger had a successful season with Lazio this past campaign, scoring nine goals and assisting an additional seven. Furthermore, he punished Milan twice, scoring against them in the league and in the cup.

As reported by Il Tempo, the Rossoneri have already presented an offer to Lazio for the player: Cutrone plus €20m (€50m total). Giampaolo is a big fan of the striker, and thus the management is looking to satisfy his wish.
However, as per usual, Lazio president Lotito wants more, specifically €60m. So far, he’s already rejected offers from Atletico Madrid and Napoli (who both offered around €30m), with Milan set to become the next victim.
 
Sport Mediaset is reporting that Milan is the Favorite to now sign Jordan Verout. Milan could finalize a deal tomorrow.

Roma have had a change of heart over their ideal midfield signing this summer. At first, it appeared as though new sporting director Gianluca Petrachi had identified Fiorentina's French midfielder Jordan Veretout as his top priority signing for the club. However, a new name appears to have overtaken Veretout's, that of Boca Juniors' 19-year-old midfielder Augustin Almendra.

Milan and Ismaël Bennacer have worked out all the issues and the player will be joining from Empoli, Di Marzio reports.

Yesterday it was reported that Milan and Bennacer have slightly moved away from each other as the Rossoneri couldn’t agree on the salary of the 21-year-old with the representatives of the Algerian.

However, there were new contacts between the parties during Thursday and according to Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky Italia’s Calciomercato – L’originale, the situation has been unlocked.

Di Marzio claims that Milan and Bennacer’s agents have solved the problem of the salary and the player has accepted the offer of the Diavolo. The Sky reporter believes that everything could be formalized tomorrow. Milan had already agreed a €16m plus bonuses deal with Empoli last week.

It remains to be seen what Bennacer’s salary will be, the offer of Milan before today’s contacts was €1.5m plus bonuses – which is a huge increase form his current Empoli salary of €400k. In any case, the official will have to wait as Ismaël is currently in Egypt with his national team; today they beat Franck Kessié’s Ivory Coast in penalties to qualify for the African Cup of Nations semi-finals.

Di Marzio also reports that Fiorentina will meet Milan and Roma tomorrow to talk about Veretout. The Diavolo are expected to increase their offer, but still include Lucas Biglia in any possible deal.

The first thought, which is in fact his first challenge for the present and even more for the future, goes to Caldara. A great purchase last season, signed from Juventus together with Higuain. No doubt about his qualities. However, just like for former Atalanta teammate Andrea Conti, he needs to recover on a physical level. Giampaolo with his staff will have to be good at recovering him without rushing and if all goes well Caldara will be able to form a strong defensive partnership with captain Romagnoli like Maldini and Nesta.

The second challenge, theoretically easier, but tactically more difficult, relates to the re-launch of Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian talent brought in January by Leonardo, was deployed as central midfielder on the left under Gattuso rather than behind the strikers. It is true that the legendary Zico considers him more central than attacking midfielder, but his personality and his shots can be decisive both for injecting fantasy in the midfield and for un-marking Piatek who seemed too lonely in many games this season.

Finally, here is the puzzle that intrigues us the most because the forwards are the ones who score goals and make the difference. And since Giampaolo prefers to play with two strikers, as everyone did before Guardiola launched a new trend, it will be necessary to see who will he prefer to line up between Cutrone and Andre Silva, alongside the indispensable Piatek. Assuming that one of the two does not leave before the end of the summer transfer window, Cutrone has already shown a promising understanding with Piatek, while Andre Siva has returned after two disappointing seasons first at Milan and then at Sevilla. Zvonimir Boban is working on bringing "Mr. X". He could be a strong and quality midfielder. According to the Italian daily,

Milan statement as reported by ANSA: “We confirm that we accept Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio's request to compete in their home matches of the upcoming UEFA Champions League at the San Siro stadium.”

According to Sky Sport, Arsenal are ready to sabotage AC Milan's move for Real Madrid starlet Dani Ceballos. Milan were interested in the Real Madrid midfielder's signature but now it appears Arsenal are keen, if they can meet Madrid's 40m euro price-tag.

AC Milan have received no offers for winger Suso this summer mainly due to his release clause, a report claims.

The Spaniard’s future with the Rossoneri appears to be up in the air as new coach Marco Giampaolo gets a feel for his squad.

There are questions marks over whether Suso will be useful in the 4-3-1-2 formation that Giampaolo likes to use, due to the fact no wingers are deployed.

At his unveiling earlier in the week, the former Sampdoria boss did drop the hint that Suso could still remain at the club into next season.

“Suso’s a quality player and I really like players with quality,” Giampaolo told reporters.

“He can do almost anything. I won’t focus on our formation but rather on which players can form part of our squad.”

His agent Alessandro Lucci has had numerous visits to Casa Milan which has seemingly confirmed that the situation is far from resolves.

However, as reported by Corriere Dello Sport, there are no offers on the table for Suso and no interested clubs due to his €38m release clause.

The idea of a swap deal with Roma involving Patrik Schick has been briefly mentioned, while Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have both been linked.
 
Bennacer has accepted Milan’s offer of €1.5m per year + bonuses. He will take his medical and sign his contract with Milan after the African Cup Of Nations, according to @NicoSchira.
