Barcelona are only prepared to send Jean-Clair Todibo out on a six-month loan, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, but Milan remain favourites.

Barcelona fans were in revolt after reports he would be allowed to move for €20m without a buy-back option. Instead, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim today that Todibo is only available on a six-month loan.

Milan would not consider this ideal, but could be prepared to accept it, as they are ahead of Monaco, and Bayer Leverkusen in the pecking order.

Ante Rebic’s adventure at AC Milan is seemingly coming to an end just six months after it started. The Croatian hasn’t managed to find his feet in Serie A, ready to return to Bundesliga and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Seven appearances, 117 minutes, and zero goals/assists for the winger. Certainly, these numbers speak for themselves: Rebic hasn’t lived up to the expectations after joining the Rossoneri in a two-year loan swap involving Andre Silva.

Of course, has been labelled as a flop. Now, as Calciomercato.com report , his entourage is at work to bring him back to Eintracht Frankfurt, as the Euros will take place this summer and Rebic needs playing time. A forced return, in other words.

We anticipated the news back on December 13th,
as we reported that the player had contacted his former club through his entourage. Of course, the purpose of these talks was a return, which now seems just details away from materializing.

So the list comprises of four English sides, two German outfits, two Spanish teams and four Italian sides.

Liverpool have a long way to go to beat Arsenal's tally of 539 days unbeaten between 2003-2004.

Perhaps the most surprising team on the list is Perugia.

The Italian outfit are currently languishing in eighth in Serie B.

But, just over 40 years ago, they managed to go the whole 1978/79 Serie A season unbeaten.


They ended up winning 11 times and drawing an incredible 19 of their 30 games, which wasn't enough to win them the title.

After Perugia, there's a massive gap to number one in the list.

Between 1991-1993 AC Milan went on an incredible run where they went 672 days unbeaten. That's just short of two years.

The Reds will have to go another 307 days without tasting defeat in the Premier League to beat that record. As good as Liverpool are, that seems extremely unlikely.

AC Milan's record has stood for the past 27 years and it's going to take a very, very good team to ever break it.

After learning a lesson or two about football from Atalanta before the Christmas break, AC Milan return for Serie A action against Sampdoria on Monday the 6th of January. The embarrassing 5-0 defeat was the side’s biggest in recent years. Pioli made a couple of questionable changes in that game which exposed AC Milan to an onslaught from Atalanta in the second half.

A number of key players such as Calabria and Conti struggled in that game while forwards like Suso, Hakan Calhanoglu and Kessie went missing. That was their first defeat in their last 5 games; LDWWD. Milan sit 12th with 6W 3D & 8L and have the 4th lowest goals scored in Serie A – 16 out of 17 league appearances.

They have conceded 24 goals and have a GD of –8. Despite an average of 15.9 shots per game, Milan has an average of only 0.9 goals per game - a ratio they hope Zlatan Ibrahimović will help them raise. Pioli is expected to play a 4-3-3 with Hakan and Suso on the flanks while Piatek starts in the center
 
Barcelona defender Jean Clair Todibo has asked the club not to be sent away permanently, according to a report from Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera via Calciomercato.com today.

The report details how the 20-year-old Frenchman has asked the Blaugrana to only be sent away on a dry loan deal, rather than being sold or having a buy option or obligation attached to a loan deal. This causes problems for the interested AC Milan, who have been keen to acquire the player on a more permanent basis.

If Barcelona accept this request then it’s incredibly unlikely that he’ll join the Rossoneri this month, the report continues. So far this season Todibo has only made three appearances for the Catalan club across all competitions, for a total of 167 minutes.
Contracted to the club until 2023, he is considered one of the most exciting young defenders in Europe. He played a full 90 minutes against Inter in the Champions League last month.
 
AC Milan failed to beat Sampdoria in front of their home crowd earlier today, only managing a 0-0 draw. Certainly, it wasn’t the start to the year that the fans and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were hoping for.

Despite having many chances, registering 12 shots on target, the Rossoneri failed to break the deadlock and the fans certainly weren’t happy, as they were expecting a reaction following the 5-0 loss against Atalanta.

In an interview with Sky Italia after the game, as cited by MilanNews.it , Ibrahimovic was asked about his second debut and what he believes the team’s biggest issue is. Certainly, he echoed the thoughts of the fans.

On the day: “I felt so much adrenaline, so much emotion, it brought me back to 9-10 years. The relationship with the fans is always beautiful, it gives me many motivations.”

On the lack of goals: “We see on the pitch that we lack a lot of confidence and aggression in scoring goals, we are less concrete.
“We need to understand what to do to get the maximum out of the squad. I have been here for four days, I will try to help in every way. There’s a little bit of trust.

On Leao: “I explained to him what movements he must do, this is all experience. We have to suffer for the moment, the fans are not happy, the results are not positive. We work and think positive.”

On the situation: “I’m very excited, I’m focused on the pitch, I wanted to score and make the sign of god under the Curva.”

Milan’s next game is against Cagliari on Saturday afternoon, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Ibrahimovic plays that game from start, considering the impact he had on the game today. Then again, he also needs the help of his teammates to succeed.
