AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez, Ante Rebic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been named in a 100-strong list of players to be considered for the first Goal 50 Fan Award.

The annual Goal 50 list is run by Goal and is now in its 13th year. This year’s list will be announced in November. But first, Goal is giving fans the chance to have their say by voting in the Goal 50 Fan Award – a separate award to Goal 50 and decided entirely by fans.

Sam Brown, Goal’s managing editor said: “Every year football fans let us know what they think of the Goal 50 and they are never shy in telling us who should have won and where certain players should have appeared in the list. This year we wanted to give them the chance to have their say and make it official.”

Fans can vote now by clicking this link here, where they can create their own list of 10 players from Goal’s longlist of 100. All the votes will be complied together to create the final 50 for the Goal 50 Fan Award list.

Previous winners include Virgil van Dijk (2019), Luka Modric (2019), Cristiano Ronaldo (2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2008), Lionel Messi (2015, 2013, 2011, 2009), and Wesley Snijder (2010).

The Goal 50 Fan Award winner and the full list will be revealed by Goal on November 11th.

Ronaldo: 'I didn't break the protocol'
Football Italia41 Minutes Ago

Comments
Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo said he didn’t violate the health protocol when returning from Portugal. ‘It’s a lie’.

The Old Lady talisman is quarantined at home in Turin after having tested positive for coronavirus during international duty with Portugal.

“My family is on another floor of the house, we can’t be in contact,” Ronaldo said in a direct on Instagram.

Ronaldo responded to the comment from Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora, who said he believes the 35-year-old ‘broke the protocol’.

“I’m always at home, now I’m sunbathing, also to let the days pass. I’m respecting the protocol, I did not break it, as has been said: It’s a lie.

“I returned from Portugal because my team and I made sure to comply with all the procedures. I returned to Italy by air ambulance and I have had no contact with anyone, even in Turin."

Conte: 'An endless run of vital games'
Football Italia2 Hours Ago

Comments
Inter coach Antonio Conte played down the importance of the Milan derby, insisting ‘every single win is worth three points’ but couldn’t confirm if Alexis Sanchez will be ready.

The Beneamata face Stefano Pioli’s Milan at San Siro tomorrow and Conte said the Derby della Madonnina ‘brings greater difficulties’ but added that there’s an ‘endless’ run of crucial games.

“We try to do well in all matches, every single win is always worth three points,” Conte said at a press conference.

“The derby brings greater difficulties; we face a strong Milan who are doing well in the wake of last season’s final months.

“Another strong team like Lazio, but we want to continue our path. We are only at the beginning.

“The games of importance are endless between now and the end of the season. In any case, I always expect growth, especially from the point of view of responsibility.

“An important aspect to take another step.”

The match comes only days after the Nerazzurri stars returned from international duty and Conte still doesn’t know if Chile international Sanchez will have recovered from a muscle problem.

“The last to return were the Chileans last night but if you do well in the national team, you arrive in a great mood.

“We want to make ourselves available and prepare for the match in a good way.”

“Had I had the possibility to choose, I would have preferred to have an extra day. We know that there’s also international calendars to respect and we will adapt.

“We will prepare for it today; we have no other way. We will try to do our best, without forcing too much from the players who have just returned.

“Sanchez has muscle fatigue, we will do some evaluations today during the training sessions and pay great attention, considering that we will play seven games in three weeks.

“If he will be available it’s because he will have given guarantees, taking responsibility. Otherwise, I prefer to wait for the next game, but I don’t exclude anything.”

The many cases of coronavirus in the Inter squad will impact Conte’s line-up on Saturday, but the former Juventus coach insists the Nerazzurri are prepared to ‘be collaborative and proactive’ when entering a ‘new complicated phase’.

“We must all be collaborative and proactive, accepting the current situation,” the coach said. “Sport in general, the whole country is accepting it.

“We need patience and availability, we went through a very hard period, I was sorry we forgot about it too quickly.

“A new complicated phase seems to be returning, so we need unity to face this situation in the best possible way and move on.

“Stopping would be disastrous. It’s useless to complain about absent people or those who are most penalised."

Football Italia2 Hours Ago

There are a number of individual battles worth keeping an eye on in Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport notes (via MilanNews), the derby could be decided by three battles that take place, namely the ones between Hakimi and Theo Hernandez on the wing, between Vidal and Calhanoglu in the middle of the field and obviously the one in attack between Lukaku and Ibrahimovic.

The duel between Theo and Hakimi promises to be the most intriguing as it will see the two players pitted against each other in the exact same area of the pitch down Milan’s left side.

Meanwhile the clash between Vidal and Calhanoglu will be decisive in the middle of the field. If the Chilean manages to stop Milan’s playmaker, it cuts off a major attacking threat and possibly the supply line to Ibrahimovic.

Speaking of the Swede, he will be determined to get the better of his opposite number Lukaku. The Belgian is in great form while Ibra has recently recovered from the Coronavirus so there could be some doubts about his condition, but he is a player that loves the big occasions.

🎙️Carlo Ancelotti spoke to Gazzetta:" AC Milan is doing well. Pioli and Maldini have done an exceptional job in the last 6 months."

🎙️Ancelotti:"Inter got stronger in the summer, they can stop Juve's reign. Overall, this seems to me like the most uncertain Serie A of the last decade. Who will I support? I was an Inter fan as a child. However, Milan is a club that marked my life as a player and as a coach."

🎙️Ancelotti:"Stefano Pioli is a person of value as a man and as a professional, he achieved excellent results in the teams that he has managed."

USELESS STRIKER EVER PRODUCE BY ITALY

Italy coach Roberto Mancini shielded Ciro Immobile from
criticism after the Lazio striker failed to impress with Italy
National team.

‘You’ll score the decisive goal against Poland,’
he wrote on Twitter.
Immobile, who won the Golden Shoe last season has failed to
impress with the National team and missed an open goal
against the Netherlands during the International break.
Mancini defended his striker on Twitter.

“You will score the decisive goals against Poland and this
applies to all our attackers. Come on, Italy”, Mancini wrote on
Twitter mentioning the Lazio striker whose reply arrived thick
and fast.

“Thanks a lot gaffer, never give up!”

Italy are the runner-ups in their Nations League group stage
and are due to face the leaders of the group Poland in Reggio
Emilia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in November’s
International break.

Boban could join AC Milan rivals
Posted on October 17, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan former chief football officer Zvonimir Boban could soon make his football return at a new club in Serie A.
At the beginning of March, AC Milan sacked Zvonimir Boban. The Croatian was let go because of his unauthorized interview with La Gzzetta dello Sport. The true reason was in fact his strong criticism towards Ivan Gazidis.

Boban publicly blasted the Rossoneri CEO for agreeing to appoint Ralf Ragnick as coach without informing anyone else at the club. The former AC Milan Chief Football Officer would later sue the club for unjust firing.

There has been no reconciliation since then and the case is still in court. However, Zvonimir Boban could soon make his return in Serie A but this time with a rival club.

According to reports by Corriere dello Sport, Boban has been recently contacted by Roma. New American owner Dan Friedkin has taken control of the Giallorossi and they want to have a link between the club and the squad.

Who better than Boban, a former player himself but at the same time an expert manager also at an institutional level. Roma would like to focus on his experience, perhaps in tandem with another former icon of AC Milan like Umberto Gandini. Gandini who served at Milan for more than 20 years is also about to return to football after his experience at Federbasket.

38 - Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now equaled Silvio Piola as the player who has scored the most times 2+ goals in a Serie A game after the age of 38 years: four. Vin. #InterMilan https://t.co/mFvmNyUBFQ

🎙️Pioli to Sky:"I already said yesterday that today's result wouldn't change anything. We're satisfied, we beat a great team. It's an important victory for our fantastic fans who escorted us to the stadium. Our path is still long, there are still many things that we can improve."

🎙️Pioli on Ibrahimovic:"He was very tired, he also asked me to replace him but I didn't listen to him. His character contribution is fundamental, we are on track, we are growing.'

#ACMilan have won each of their first 4 matches of a Serie A season for the fifth time in club history.

It previously happened in 1995-96, 1992-93, 1954-55 and 1950-51. Milan went on to win the title in each of those seasons. https://t.co/yeIRGqq2Lz

🎙️Ibrahimovic spoke to MilanTV:" We're growing a lot, we are playing collectively. We are working for each other but we still need to improve. We're getting a feeling for the victory but we still need to grow. Based on how you train, play and you have to keep working well."

🎙️Romagnoli spoke to Sky:"It's a beautiful moment, we got off to a good start, I'm happy to be back. We are satisfied but there will be another battle on Thursday." https://t.co/4Uvku6tdNB
