GdS: Elliott Management stand firm on Milan’s wage cap but will make two exceptions
By Oliver Fisher - 24 March 2021, 13:24
AC Milan’s owners Elliott Management are standing firm on their desire to bring down the wage budget, a report claims, but they will make two exceptions.
The American fund have concocted the recipe for returning to the top, and that it contains structural investments (such as the stadium project) and the consolidation of accounts.
For example, the wage bill has been slashed considerably from €140m when they took over the club to the current €90m – as per a recent edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport – while the balance on the market is back in the green after six years (+25.3m in 2020-21).
However, the issue of the wage budget is set to come back into fashion as several contract situations need resolving. The same paper (via MilanNews) confirms that the will of the owners is to contain the costs of renewals with two exceptions; namely Gigio Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. For this reason, Elliott do not intend to exceed €4m net per season for Calhanoglu.

This is bad, doing it for two what will the rest think, this partiality may hurt others feelings and could bring the unity of the squad apart.
Gigio getting 10m,Zlatan 7m because their agent is greedy then Hakan too deserve the 5m he want because he is equally good us the two and henceforth all the agents will demand more when their players contract runs down.
