Napoli won’t rule out selling Insigne

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly not ruled out selling Lorenzo Insigne this summer, as the captain’s contract expires in June 2022.

Luciano Spalletti reportedly closes in on the Napoli job and should sign a two-year deal with the Azzurri.

The former Inter and Roma coach is expected to replace Gennaro Gattuso at the Stadio Diego Maradona, but the patron can’t guarantee he will keep the captain in the squad.

Tuttomercatoweb reports the talks between De Laurentiis and Spalletti started last January and as they are close to reaching an agreement, the patron has always been clear about the market strategies.

De Laurentiis will work on the renewal of the 29-year-old’s contract, but has not ruled out a possible sale this summer, to avoid seeing the Italy international leave on a free transfer next summer.

Insigne has spent his whole career at Napoli, with loan spells at Cavese, Foggia and Pescara early in his career to gain the required experience before breaking into the first team.

Insigne scored 19 goals in 35 Serie A games with the Partenopei this term and helped the club finish fifth in Serie A under Gattuso.

But Spalletti has been warned the captain could leave this summer, should he not sign a new deal ahead of the new season.

🚨 The possibility of Donnarumma joining Barcelona is absolutely confirmed regardless of Ter Stegen’s future given the good relationship between Raiola and Laporta. Juventus would only sign him if they manage to offload Szczesny

Hakan Calhanoglu‘s future with AC Milan seems to be coming to an end, according to the latest reports in the last few days because a contract renewal looks difficult and complicated to make due to the gap between the parties.

In fact, according to a report from SportMediaset, the Turkish playmaker will not be extending his contract with the Rossoneri. He will move on to another destination as a free agent.

The player has actually said no to Milan’s proposed offer which is worth 4 million euros per season as a salary.

Interested in securing Calhanoglu’s services, there are two Serie A rivals: Juventus, who are also evaluating other options for the attacking midfield, and Inter, concludes the report

The mother of the Hernandez brothers reveals Theo was meant to have the Atletico Madrid trial, but they signed Lucas too and he developed quicker as ‘a leader.’

“I made many sacrifices to allow them to play, as I was a single mother who had to work,” Laurence Py told L’Equipe.

“Lucas is right, his transfer to Atletico Madrid was almost a coincidence. The club had invited Theo for a trial, but seeing as there was nobody to look after him at home, Lucas came with us.

“He started playing and a scout spotted him, asking if he was my son. At the end of the day, they signed both of them!

“Lucas then developed more rapidly, he was a fighter, a leader and captain of every team. Theo was shy, sensitive.”

Lucas is now playing for Bayern Munich, while full-back Theo is at Milan.

She outlines the extent of the financial hardship the family was under before both brothers found success.

“One day the police arrived, telling us that there were too many debts their father couldn’t pay. They took everything, giving us one day to load what we could into a car and vacate the premises. We lived for weeks in a single hotel room.”

#TheoHernandez don’t want to leave #ACMilan. Many clubs have asked info to his agent (MG Quilon), but #Rossoneri don’t want to sell him. In the few next weeks #Maldini and his agent will talk for a contract extension and new salary of (€3,5M/year). Now Theo earns €1,5M/year

Jens Petter Hauge to TV2: “First and foremost, I will rest now and prepare for the gathering with the national team. Then I will probably have a little holiday before I speak with Milan. Because it is a dialogue that must take place.”

"You never know. I am much sought after ...". [Laughs]
