🏥 Alessandro Florenzi will have surgery tomorrow for a tear in the ACL and meniscus in his right knee.

His season is completely ruined: he's expected to be back by late 2025.

By then, his contract with Milan will have expired, and it will likely be the end of his career.

🚨🗣️ Rafael #Leao to @Gazzetta_it: #Camarda ? "He’s still young but doing very well; I expect a lot from him. I always try to talk to him, to make him understand that playing in the first team is different from games with the younger guys. He needs to be strong and combative. He already knows how to score goals, but he needs to learn other things. He will be the future of Milan. Us older players are keeping an eye on him, including me."

Milan Futuro continues its market maneuvers. The Rossoneri, in fact, are negotiating with Freiburg to secure defender Bruno Ogbus, born in 2005. For now, however, Freiburg's no remains, as they do not want to deprive themselves of the defender. Milan, however, will insist

AS Monaco have signed a new midfielder who could be viewed as a replacement for Youssouf Fofana who is keen on moving to AC Milan as soon as possible.

According to Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the fact that Monaco have pushed ahead and signed Lamine Camara from fellow French side FC Metz shows that they are expecting to lose Fofana this summer and could eventually soften on their position.

Monaco have been asking for €35m for the French international but given he has just one year to run on his contract, and no interest in extending, Milan think he can be signed for less.

The Rossoneri are expected to submit a new offer for Fofana next week of €20m, as well as giving Monaco 10% of any future sale.

Considering Fofana will be leaving Monaco for less than his market value due to having one year left on his contract, and that he is 25 years old, Milan could well end up selling him for more than €20m in the future if he performs well.

Fonseca is on board with the idea of signing Fofana and the player has a contract agreement in place with the Rossoneri that would see him earn €3m per season.

Stefano Pioli could reunite with former Milan director of sport Frederic Massara in Ligue 1 at Stade Rennais, according to reports in France.

The coach is currently out of work following the end of his nearly five-year reign at San Siro, where he won the Scudetto.

He had been on the verge of a move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad only for that to fall apart at the last minute.

Pioli future could be in France
Now Footmercato suggest that the 58-year-old is being lined up for a potential job in Ligue 1 with Rennes.

This is because Julien Stephan has not convinced the club chiefs and could be sacked even before the season kicks off in France.

Massara only took on the Stade Rennais job last month and is ready to make some big changes, which could include a reunion with Pioli.

He was in charge of Milan from 2019 to June 2023, when he departed just days after colleague Paolo Maldini was sacked.

AS Roma coach Daniele De Rossi is interested in signing Davide Calabria from AC Milan this summer and it could help to facilitate a move for Tammy Abraham in the other direction.

As reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the Roma coach, who is embarking on his first full season in charge of the Giallorossi, thinks that Calabria would be a valuable signing for his team.

There could be a transfer domino effect taking place very soon as Milan are getting very close to finding an agreement with Tottenham to sign Emerson Royal, another right-back.

Whilst there is no active desire to sell Calabria, there is scope for Milan to use the Italian right-back as part of the deal to sign Abraham from Roma.

Paulo Fonseca has told the club that he would like them to sign Abraham so that he can have two established Serie A strikers to choose from rather than just Alvaro Morata and Luka Jovic.

Noah Okafor, Jovic and Divock Origi have been mentioned as a counterpart in a deal for Abraham but it seems that Calabria is the player that really interested De Rossi rather than any of the aforementioned.

It remains to be seen whether Calabria would want to make that move or not, and it would almost certainly be dependent on Emerson arriving.

So far, Milan has spent €36M in the transfer window and brought in just over €28M.

  • De Ketelaere (€22M),
  • Krunić (€3M)
  • Simić (€3M).

"I was injured in the 2007 Champions League, and we didn't play well in the group stage at all.
When we lost in Athens 1-0, Ancelotti told us:
'We came here to take measurements of the pitch for the final.'
I saw everyone change after that sentence; Kaka, Inzaghi, Nesta, and Pirlo were doing everything to win.
We reached the final, and our opponent was Liverpool, and we hadn't forgotten the wound of Istanbul.
I played that final with an injured knee, but everyone fought for Athens, and indeed Ancelotti's joke became reality, making the saying 'After every Istanbul, there is an Athens' a bigger truth.

Milan have several impressive talents among the Primavera ranks, and Lorenzo Torriani has shown his talents on the American Tour so far, leading Manchester City to take an interest in the young goalkeeper.

Finding good goalkeepers is a difficult task, especially ones who are comfortable with the ball at their feet, and finding young players who fit that bill at a young age is a near-impossible task, but Milan may not have to worry about this.

During the American tour, Torriani has been elected to start both games, largely due to the injury that Marco Sportiello suffered. However, he has stepped up, keeping a clean sheet against Real Madrid yesterday.

As Sportsmediaset journalist Andersinho Marques has stated on his X account, Milan have a ‘little gem’ in the young goalkeeper, but the Rossoneri are not the only ones to see this. In fact, as the journalist states, Pep Guardiola has been keeping an eye on the youngster for ‘some time’.

Finding young goalkeepers is extremely difficult, and whilst the Rossoneri would be reluctant to part ways with the youngster if Manchester City arrived with a significant bid, it would be an interesting deal to keep an eye on, all things considered.

However, there is no talk of any concrete interest at current, rather Guardiola is an admirer, and whether anything further will materialise remains to be seen.

Signing Youssouf Fofana is a top So for AC Milan this summer, and today, they have made a new offer to Monaco for the French midfielder after their last bid was rejected.

The Fofana situation is deeply frustrating, but should Milan be successful in their bid, they will reap the rewards for their attempts.

In the early stages of the mercato, the French midfielder was identified as the perfect midfielder for Paulo Fonseca’s midfield, given he offers a fantastic physical profile, but the road to him has not been as easy as once hoped.

Not only has Fofana given a move the green light, but he has stated his desire to leave the French outfit, which shows a statement of intent about his future. However, his club are difficult negotiators, especially considering his deal expires next summer.

As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) write, an agreement was found at the €20 million mark – made up of a €14m fee and bonuses – but after West Ham United’s bid of €35m, the offer must now be improved, which the Diavolo have done.

There has been a reluctance to reach a figure close to Monaco’s asking price – which is understandable considering the factors – but a new offer has been sent, and now, we must wait for a reply.

Ibrahimovic, Furlani, and Moncada aim to provide Fonseca with a defensive midfielder, a right-back, and a backup for Maignan before the first Serie A game of the season on August 17th (in 2 weeks).

Milan will then evaluate late-market opportunities for an attacking midfielder and another striker.

Florenzi had a very successful surgery on his knee. His recovery timeline is 6-8 months. He could make the last 1-2 months of the season to play his final games for the club as his contract expires in June 2025.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic to
ESPN on the most challenging part of being a director at Milan:

“I know the guys because I played with them. Now, I make decisions about their futures. It’s not easy, going from being a teammate to making tough, often unfriendly, decisions about them.”

Zlatan on being an executive: “It’s a change you face day by day. I have a lot to learn. I have my experiences, but now I work from a different perspective. I’m working with good people, the best, and they make me feel at my best. We are a great team, and I’m excited. I love responsibilities and pressure; we eat pressure for breakfast.”
