Investors: Nairobi slowly taking Johannesburg's place as Sub Saharan Africa's first choice for HQs

Do you even know what 92 percent stands for brother ... its above an average meaning its something that is observable .... huwezi kuniambia mji uliopo na 92% slum ukawa una slums ndogondogo wakati areas zilizopo poa ni 8 percent ..yaani how on earth can 8 % dissolve 92% hadi isiwe observable ?????.....
How is that even possible , hebu niambie zaidi
I told Hoshea above that I do not think that 92% of Dar really comprise of slums. That for sure cannot be correct, my Kenyan brother there said that just to poke fun in retaliation for being insulted by Hoshea.

And my response to u was meant to explain that just bcos Nairobi has Kibera, which bears the unenviable reputation for being the largest slum in Africa does not infer that much of Nairobi is a slum, or that Nairobi comprises of Kibera. That is what u were saying, right?
Nairobi is about 700km², Kibera is only 2.5km².

Some cities have several small, unplanned settlements so close to each other that if were combined into a single settlement unit, would make one very humongous slum several times Kibera.

I mentioned Kampala for example. What if the three adjacent slums of Katwe, Kibuli and Nsambya, were combined to form a single residential area, with one name? Wont it be a one big slum, much larger than Kibera?

What if the place that is Kibera was divided into just 2 different residential units with one retainining that name Kibera while the other given some other name, and it is considered distinct from that other slum called Kibera, would Kibera still be regarded as the largest slum Africa?

See, it is just semantics.

True, slums cover only 6% of Nairobi total area.

Those are your statistics.. If kibera had 2.5 m residents ...why does it have less than 150000 registered voters...ujinga hauna dawa

Kilichonisikitisha ni kuwa ilidhaniwa watu wa kibera wangepangisha vyumba hivyo ILI wapate rent instead of staying safely ..how is that bro

The structures are bad, but kusema hakuna facilities zozote sio kweli. There are lots of facilities such as hospitals, schools, clean water depots, toilets, social halls, street lightings to enhance security etc. But the pics u see in the media or hear are the things they want u to see, in order to reinforce the notion that this place is hell on earth. But the problems in Kibera are typical of any slum anywhere in the world.
The govt, esp the current govt has really tried to spruce up the place.

Mbagala sipajui, kwa hivo I cannot draw any comparisons, lakini vile nimesema hapo juu, shida zilizopo Kibera are not different from those in the other slums elsewhere in Africa. Mbagala may not be as bad as Kibera, I may sat so is Kangemi slum.

Sijaelewa hilo swali lako la mwisho, lakini Kibera kunaendelea huo mpango wa kujenga makazi mapya na kuwapa wakaazi, lakini kuna changamoto kadhaa ambazo zinaalow down the process.

Mifano:

b) siasa:- kuna pande mbili zinataka kudai credit for the work done.

c) the Nubian question.

Iam impressed with powerful skyscrapers under construction in Nairobi! Johannesburg twaiweka kwenye system ya kutupwa!
Nairobi hoyeee!!

Sema nairobae beiby. Acha iyo iwe completed kwanza hiyo yenu itaingiamo times 3

Kama 92 ya dar ( 92 ya dar ni zaidi ya Nairobi nzima) ni slum bhasi dar ingekuwa na largest slum in the world ... Sasa mbona dar haina Hiyo fame kuliko Nairobi ????...

Can you explain more bout this
The whole of Dar, ukitoa CBD, ni slum. Very disorganized city.

Hi hii, aibu hadi unapika facts, worldly fact is that Nairobi has the largest slums in Africa and second largest in the world sijui 3rd, but number one in Africa, jina la slum kubwa ilochangia nairobi kushika nambari one ni kibera, na nasikia kuna zingine zinaifukuzia kibera, therefore kibera has to watch out and improve.

How bad is bad depends on z perception of a person involved ... kwangu mimi i always search for truth ili nisiwe bias...
slums za Kenya nimeanza kuzisoma katika vitabu vya Ngugi waThion'go hasaa THIS TIME TOMORROW ambayo alikuwa akionesha maisha ya average citizens wanaoishi katika slums...

Na kwangu kibera is a nightmare coz hata ukiziangalia nyumba hizo ni za mabanda ya bati meaning watu hawana uwezo hata wa kuafford cement kwa ujenzi ....
Serikali yenu itilie mkazo suala hili

Nairobae Hoyeee! Soon Johannesburg is going to be put aside by our aggressive developments!
