Adhari za kuanzisha miradi lengo likiwa ni kuipita Kenya, badala ya kuwaza umuhimu wake kwa Watanzania, inapolekea miradi kutelekezwa ikiwa hewani.

Kenyan universities are churning out graduates faster than a queen termite lays eggs. Its all about numbers, not quality. The problem is deep. Kibaki in his last days in power turned many colleges into full fledged universities without any investment into these institutions in the form of equipment, labs, libraries or personnel. The parallel degree programmes led us into commercialization of education - there has been a rush to convert every available building into a university, leading to the likes of Nairobi Aviation college (who even after the expos'e by the media are still operating). The Ministry of Education and those who head it are all clueless.

The report is sadly true. Quality of most Kenyan degrees is wanting. Actually it is pathetic. Education has become a business, with unqualified lecturers. There is little to no research material. The resources are few. It's a murky mess that is sure to doom Kenya. From a personal experience, my 4 years in a Kenyan University was a waste. I learnt more in two years in an Foreign University than I did in Kenya. The resources and the lecturers were a joke compared to what a real University ought to have. There is a big gap between what colleges are teaching and what the market needs.

In Kenya, any storied building which has doors, windows and a toilet can be a university. It has never been about quality, its all about the balance sheet at the bank. Our universities are wasting our youth, our youth are smart but the system is failing them. A C+ guy in a university in Canada or the UK is much better that an A student at UON. It's not the students but our institutions that are useless.

Just because Kenyans are bold and confident enough to criticize what is wrong with their education doesn't make it worse than Tanzanians. You see my uneducated friend, if you want to do a comparison, you don't pick a random article from the opinion section of a paper and post it here like your retarded friend Kimweri is trying to do. You use statistics from a recognized body (like university rankings for instance that places more Kenyan universities in the top 100 African universities than the rest of EA combined. You can also use the real facts on ground where even Tanzanian employers prefer Kenyan graduates over Tanzanian graduates - perhaps that would debunk your useless form 6 narrative. .......and to that fellow who claims Kenya has only 500k university students while UDOM alone has 40k, please tell him five Kenyan universities have over 40k students and Kenya has 50 universities. (UoN 70k, KU 60k, Moi University 50k, JKUAT 40K, Egerton 40k - these five alone have a total of 260k students and we still have 45 more. Do your Math). That you worship your clown friend Kimweri for pulling an opinion article from a paper (written by someone just not content with Kenyan education and doesn't mention Tanzania at any point) and using it to conclude Tanzanian education is better than Kenyan is quite telling on the quality of Kenyan education. Next time do some thinking people before cheering your 'brilliant academic '.

PS -Kenya has more students in European and American universities than Tanzania. Please come back preaching your form six narrative when the reverse happens.

I can see that even 'paragraphing' requires Kenyans to have two or three PhD's for them to do it, no wonder Mr Keter failed the battle of the pipeline over Prof Muhongo.

I can assure you a properly educated Tanzanian will never fail head to head against a Kenyan. Our education system save for recent years dilution prepares one more thoroughly and intensively.

The moment Museveni announced let the best proposal win, Kenya never had a chance during the pipeline talks. All they are good at is backdoor stabbings and lies.

If you start counting how many lies they spew in these forums you will be surprised how do they manage to function as a nation. Miracles do indeed exist.

MK254, Kigamboni is far advanced than Konza even with GoT showing no effort on implementing her plans

The current gov decided to change priorities n concentrate on winning regional infrastructure projects like supporting Ugandan pipeline project with expansion of airports across the route and the port at the final destination i.e. Tanga. Aside that the central line n Tanga-Arusha-Mara infrastructure with again airport that fortunately overlaps with the pipeline aside ports at Kigoma n Mwanza n Musoma ready to pounce and erase any prospects for Kenya in this region! Kenya will only be entitled to Somalia trade.

go to those malls and see what they sell start with Apparel stores and see design wears, watches, sunglasses, shoes e.t.c. over 90% not from Kenya!
Thank you for shopping in our malls at least you can preach telling your people how good malls would be if only found in your country.

Hakuna GAP

Kenya kuna large number of so called university graduates without university level skills.

Kenyan graduates 'lack crucial skills'

Read their comments there when they are done pretending in JF. Hopeless

it is true that the quality of graduates is a big problem in east africa but tanzania is not an exception and is actually the worst affected both in terms of quality and numbers.

i could flood this thread with hundreds of reports and news articles on east africa's tertiary education but maybe if I find the time. i'm a very busy man so you guys would have to pay me lol. everyone is free to believe their country is the best if they want to.

Probe fingers Tanzania state officials in movement of illegal container
New details of how a 20-foot container of a chemical used for the manufacture of heroin was imported into Tanzania from China and later re-exported to Pakistan show that Tanzanian authorities may have facilitated the movement of the restricted substance.

The Citizen has gathered facts indicating that two senior officials in the office of the Chief Government Chemist (CGC) and one from the Drugs Control Commission (DCC) endorsed the importation of the chemical, which could also be used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Raised the alarm

Pakistan authorities seized the container as soon as it arrived there from Tanzania and launched investigations to establish how the banned chemical made its entry.

Sources privy to the ongoing investigation confided that a multi-task team swung into action as soon as the Pakistani government raised the alarm upon discovery of the contraband, which is usually sought by drug cartels for the manufacture of narcotics.

The fact that the chemical is also used to make bombs would have further concerned the Pakistani government. It was, however, not stated where the final destination of the container was at its interception in Karachi.

Granted permission

Back in Dar es Salaam, authorities were reportedly pursuing leads that were likely to lead to arrests and prosecution of those involved in the deal.

Questions were being asked about who granted permission to Chinese authorities to allow exportation into Tanzania of 21 tonnes of the illegal chemical.

China reportedly sought to know whether the laws in Tanzania allowed the importation of the said chemical–acetic anhydride.
