Jaramogi Oginga Odinga (Kuzaliwa Oktoba 1911 na Kufa tarehe 20 Januari 1994)
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga is among Kenyan heroes who fought for Kenya's independence. He was born in Bondo currently part of Siaya County. Studied in maseno and later during the arm struggle for independence in Kenya he was among the front line people who were pushing for Kenya's independence. The push had positive feedback as in 1961 he vied for presidency in KANU ticket during independent General elections. KANU won hence he was to be the president hence form the government.
Instead he took a different approach. Jaramogi Oginga Odinga refused to take over the government from colonial powers citing the one who is supposed to form the government and lead the nation is Jomo Kenyatta the one in detention. He said he had lot of respect to Jomo Kenyatta and he was viewing him like a father. If he would have formed the government then Kenya would have got independence same year with Tanganyika.
In 1961 Jomo Kenyatta was released and handed over KANU leadership to him. Two years later Kenya got independence and in 1964 it became a Republic while Jaramogi Oginga Odinga became Kenya's first Vice President until in 1966 when he quit and joined opposition due disagreement with Jomo Kenyatta over Ideology leadership. He formed Kenya People's Union (KPU) and due to 1969 drama in Kisumu. He was put under house arrest and KPU banned. He was released in 1971. When section 2A was amended in 1991. He formed Ford Kenya party where he vied for presidency but lost to Moi. Two years later he rested and was laid to rest in his ancestral home in Western Kenya Region. His second eldest son Raila Odinga is the current opposition leader

11 November 1967. Rais Jomo Kenyatta akiwa kwa maonyesho ya kilimo kule Nakuru. Uyo kijana mdogo ni Uhuru Kenyatta. Ambaye amesimama kando ya Jomo Kenyatta na mavazi ya kuhitimu ni Bwana Omamo ambaye alikua kwenye baraza la mawaziri ya Rais Jomo Kenyatta.
Wengi sidhani wangeweza jua kwamba wajukuu wa Jomo na Omamo wataoana. Kwa Sasa Jomo Junior mwanawe Uhuru Kenyatta ni mume wa Achola mjukuu wa Bwana Omamo.
