For your information Kenya has the money to do it, but unlike you we are a democracy and the voices of all people need to be heard including the owners of matatus (Yeah this happens in democratic countries). Also we are not just planning for a BRT it also includes the Nairobi commuter rail network (Which is being constructed now), to avoid the situation that you people have of overcrowding and bedbugs in buses.

In short our buses will be a complement to the commuter railway(last mile connection) and not the main means. This coupled with the fact that we are a democracy is why we are taking our time. This is the standard model across the world, buses act as a last mile connection for commuter trains.
Trains alone will transport 1.6 million people a day in Nairobi once renovations and refurbishment of the commuter rail is complete.
Now can you compare that to your haphazardly done buckets of disease?

China class 1 at a speed of 110km/hr!! Mbona mnakua wajinga sana. Katika dunia ya leo time ni kila kitu mlikubali vipi kujengewa rail inayo ruhusu speed ndogo kiasi hicho. Mbaya zaidi ni ya diesel na imejengwa kwa inflated costs! Nyie endeleeni kujidanganya na huo ujinga wa class 1, wakina Kagame na M7 wanawaona malofa tu. Kagame amewakataa tayari, M7 hataki train ya diesel. Hiyo advantage mliyo nayo kuwa karibu na Kampala inaondolewa na tofauti ya speed ya reli yetu. Mchina hivi alivyo kataa kuwapa mkopo kuna siku tutakuja sikia vitu vya kushtua na msiamini kama kwenye oil pipe line.

So Kenya made a very sober decision kutumia diesel trains. Reli yetu ni ya mainly freight na kutumia stima ambayo ata miundombinu hatujaweka in place was simply out of the question. Diesel trains were the best option na according to mimi i see no problem, we will upgrade in future when we have adequate infrastructure in place. Hatutaki situation kama ya Ethiopia eti train inakwama siku nzima. Ata kule America na Uchina wanatumia diesel electric trains kusafirisha freight across the vast country side. Kutumia stima kule is simply not sustainable & so is here
