What I'm trying to say is..
About HOT vs DOPE..
here I focus on the STYLE..
You know most times Cole spits at a normal tone and he is more melodic as compared to Kendrick..but his style is never boring and it's HoT.
Kendrick goes hard, at a high pitch, and is often crazy AF..eg. Listen to tracks like God is a gangster,The blacker the berry, alright and some autros in Untitled unmastered; so I call that DoPe.
About Heart vs brains..
Here my focus is on WORDING or their lyricism.
Cole's lyrics don't make you think too hard..even words he chooses are not that complicated (according to my level of English competence) so you get what he says right on spot and it goes straight to your heart..you love it or hate it, keep it or let it go..
But Kendrick's verses are equipped with so much metaphors, sarcasm and lotta other devices..so you need a deal of time to work your brain and understand him..then whether you like or hate his meanings, they stick to your mind coz you worked to get them.
