by 2010 Alshabaab through the ports of kismayu and babera used to earn more than £1.5 million a month to buy weapons and pay fighters by controlling the export of charcoal to the Gulf and the import of untaxed sugar to smuggle to east Africa.
Fighters used to be paid handsomely and that's why the group attracted so many foreign fighters including those from Tanzania.
The whole of east Africa was at the time sitting on a ' ticking time bomb' .

The ideal was not you (Kenyan) to deploy troops into Somali land rather than allies with East Africa member countries to overlook boarders and eliminate piracy at the coast of Mombasa.

The problems is you are not organized, you were supposed to build war along your border with Somalia before to go to Somali if it was necessary, not other way round.
