Hawa ni wale jamaa waliwakilisha Kenya
Pale 11th Annual Warrior Competition at King Abdullah IIS pecial Operations Training Center (KASOTC) Amman, Jordan 2019
The name of the unit has changed from Renditions team to Rapid Response Unit to Team 18 currently due to their deployment formation in batches of 18 elite commandos, but total number is unknown.
The team is the brain child of the CIA in partnership with M16 (UK) and National intelligence Service (NIS) in Kenya.
They are often flown to "The farm" in camp peary, virginia under the guise of sports scholarship and in Annapolis Naval Academy in maryland.
They take instructions from a paramilitary and intelligence department in the american embassy in Nairobi (eacom, east africa command) , headed by CIA (America), M16 (UK) and NIS(Kenya), who do surveillance across east and central africa for terrorist threats (Yes NIS has the capacity to listen to any calls in the region, including regional heads of states).
They get training from CIA contractors, Delta force, FBI SWAT team and the special squads in the american national guard on tactical operations, close-quarter combat, weapons handling, reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence gathering. The men also undertake several courses with names such as "Renditions Operations Training" and "Disruption Operations" but in reality it is training in black operations tactics like the one undertaken by seal team 6 to kill osama.
The members of Team 18 are picked from elite squads within gsu like recce, crisis response unit but on return they do not mingle with the rest of the special operations units in gsu.
They were unknown until leaks from the CIA revealed, these guys have carried out operations together with CIA and seal teams, across the globe.
If we are talking tip of the spear within the Kenya police units, then this is it. These guys are battle hardened, their main job is to neutralize targets before they become a bigger problem.
