The United States and the United Kingdom have offered assistance to Kenya in efforts to get the killers and motive into the murder of IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando.

US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec and British High Commissioner Nic Hailey said they were gravely concerned with the murder of Msando as they condoled with the family, friends and the entire IEBC team.
“It is critical that Kenya have free, fair, credible and peaceful elections on August 8, and protection for IEBC staff is essential to achieving this goal.”

They said they welcome the Government of Kenya’s commitment to investigate the
murder.

“We have offered our assistance in the investigation,” they added. The body of Msando was found in Mguga Forest in Kikuyu hours after he had gone missing.

He had been tortured before his murder. His naked body was discovered by locals who called police. He had an injury in the head, neck, back and right hand.

Msando had gone missing on Friday night. He was last spotted on Mombasa Road at about 2.30 am on Saturday. His car was found abandoned in Roysambu area on Saturday morning.
It was towed to Kasarani police station Sunday night.

Chris Msando was one of the few people with knowledge on the location of IEBC servers. Msando had reported to Central police station about death threats to him.
The death comes a week to Kenya’s General Election.

US election observer group cautions IEBC over KIEMS failure
An international election observer mission has urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct proper tests on electronic systems before the August 8 polls to avoid possible technology failure.
United States observer group Carter Center Election Observation Mission said the proper functioning of the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS) network throughout the electoral process would be a major boost to the credibility of the elections.
The observer mission said the success of the polls would be largely dependent on the proper functioning of the KIEMS network, saying proper simulation of the kits should be undertaken to ensure that the technology functions smoothly and that each polling station has sufficient back-up batteries.

Nauliza tu,

Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Language and Performing Arts at Daystar University, Wandia M. Njoya, has revealed why Kenya is currently standing on murky grounds as the elections near.

According to the African Studies Association Member, Kenyans have exhausted their options of bringing justice in the country and therefore, left with the hope of having free and fair elections as the only way of getting justice.

But even that will soon be taken away by the people in power and the masses might fight eventually.

Dr. Wandia Njoya: If Kenya erupts after the elections, it will erupt because elections were the last option remaining for peaceful change

“I am actually frustrated with the “if the election is not credible, there will be no peace” narrative. But not for the reasons that most think. I’m frustrated because it is simplistic.

The problem will not be a botched election. The problem will be that elections were the last option that Kenyans had to finally start the country on a path of social inclusion and dignity for most Kenyans, but the ruling class will have decided to take away even that.

My friend Lewis Gordon explains that oppression is the failure of options. To be a slave is to have no options. The slave cannot appeal to courts, to the church, or to the rule of law because the essence of slavery is to not be recognized by these institutions. So the slave has two options: to remain a slave or to fight back.

Now, we Kenyans have exhausted our options. We did independence in 1963. Then we did multi-party in 1992. The Ndung’u report in 2005. The coalition government in 2008.

A new constitution in 2010. TJRC in 2013. In between, we had major incidents of violence which we have never resolved. Kisumu in 1969. Wagalla in 1984. Molo in 1992. Rift Valley in 2008. Assassinations, extrajudicial killings, and police brutality. You have to give it to Kenyans. We have tried all the options available. We have written novels and been detained. We have demonstrated and have been tear gassed. Except for 2007, we have voted and accepted results we didn’t believe in. We have asked donors for funds to do activism.

Supported the ICC process. But when we allowed Uhuruto on the ballot despite the court indictments, and when the Supreme Court bench walked out of the court after a 10 minute ruling, following an unconvincing victory of the very family we’ve been trying to get out of power all these decades, that was the end of all options except elections.

That was what I was trying to argue when I said: “this is what accept and move on means.” Jubilee supporters naively asked us to accept elections as the only option left for a change. And not because they really believed that elections would change anything.

They already knew elections were not an option since they gloated about the “tyranny of numbers.” They told us that the Kenyatta family is destined to exploit this country and that there was nothing we could do about it. Not even elections. So if Kenya erupts after the elections, it will erupt because elections were the last option remaining for peaceful change.

And we can’t say we didn’t see this coming.”

Condolence to his family. He was killed because he knew too much, all the intricacies of how elections are rigged and was determined to be fair and honest.

That is the price you pay for refusing to cooperate and keep your integrity. Hopeful Kenyans will demand full investigation on how it was possible to kill him and who is responsible for his death.

Tujiandae kupokea wakimbizi, Raila hatokubali kuibiwa. Uhurutto hii damu ya Musando haitapotea bure.

Tofauti na Tanzania, Kenya mtu akitoweka atapatikana akiwa amekufa..
Walau ndugu na jamaa wanajua ndugu yao amekufa..

Lakini Tanzania, mtu hatopatikana kabisa mfano Ben Saanane.
Where is Ben Saanane jamani??
