Jesus Christ!!!! Tanzanians you have horrible mathematical skills. Okay let me a Kenyan, help you with the calculation since they do not teach you mathematics in school.
a)The plane being used is a boeing 787 which uses 1600 gallons of fuel every hour of flight.
b) Given that hours of flight from Nairobi to heathrow is 8 hours (KQ has direct flights to heathrow london from Nairobi) that comes to 8x1600=12,800 gallons
c) In litres you need to convert 12,800 gallons to litres which is 48,453.271 litres ie. 1 gallon=3.78541 litres
d) Convert litres to tonnes ie. Litres are a measure of volume (like pints), whereas tonnes are a measure of mass, also often wrongly referred to as weight. So it depends on the density of the substance. If it is water it is easy - 1 litre = 1 kg, so 1000 litres = 1000 kg = 1 tonne. A tonne is 1000 kg. If you know the density of your substance relative to water you can convert from there. For example if density is 1/2 that of water 1000 litres = 500kg = 0.5 tonnes.
e) Now let us convert 48,453.271 litres to tonnes
f) Known density of jet fuel (Fuel for aeroplanes) is 0.804 kg/ per litre.
g) without any explanation needed ( (48,453.271*0.804)/1)=3895.6429884 kg
h) now convert 3895.6429884 kg to tonnes, very simple divide by 1000 you get 3.8956429884 tonnes
Now where did you get 80 tonnes?
