Mkuu sasa mbona umeanza kuquote post zako kwenyewe? au picha zimeisha? Kudos mkuu, next time tupost high rises residential areas, au unasenaje, no place beats dar in high rise residential areas:lol:

Nilikuwa sijajua nguvu ya picha. Hivi sasa yale tuliyokuwa tukipigiana kelele kuwa Kenya imeendelea sana kufananisha na Tanzania yako wazi kabisa. Sasa hayo ni majengo na miundombinu tu, bado kiwango cha elimu, civility, (as opposed to ushenzi, uhuni, ulaghai na domo kaya- I feel safer and more respected as a human being in Kenya) na pato la taifa.
Kama nilivyokuwa nikifikiria, wale waliokuwa wakipiga kelele ...ooh bana, chichi...chichi Tanthania....kumbe upeo wa maarifa yao ulikuwa Kariakoo tu. Sasa wameanza kuamka! Tanzania is still a dirty, rough and a poor place (blame whomever you want to)
By the way, I am a Tanzanian!-

There isw no time to loose!!

[h=1]I live in Dar es Salaam on a street with no name... but hey, you can always find me[/h]The old saying, “Cleanliness is next to godliness,” suggests that if you maintain personal physical, moral and environmental tidiness you will sit on the right hand side of the Great Wizard.
God don’t like ugly, and filthy sure is ugly.

Which means Dark es Salaam is a godforsaken place, a sprawling, unkempt, ugly mega-village that they call a city only because a proper name has not been found for it.

If there were a contest to choose the dirtiest capital city in Africa, Dar would be among the topmost contenders.

But there is something else about Dar that makes it a huge village with concrete structures in the middle.

Dar es Slum, the capital of the United Republic of Tanzania, is a collection of rundown neighbourhoods and shanty towns surrounding the concrete central business district, which also houses government offices, all without proper street names or plot numbers displayed.

Nadhani kuna thread kama hii hapa.

All it took for Matheka was a visit atop Nairobi’s landmark, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, where he saw a different side of Nairobi that he wanted to capture for himself.

“I was still an amateur photographer then. I wasn’t on social media and did not even have a blog. I just took the pictures for myself, but later when I uploaded them, they went viral.
People have never seen the city looking like that, and they were pleasantly surprised,” he says.

He agrees that the city needs to do a lot more to improve its image.

“I did not take the pictures to change the perception of foreigners but for us as Kenyans. Everybody was pleasantly surprised. Online, the comments on the pictures range from ‘they are photoshopped’ to ‘that is not Nairobi,” says Matheka.

Matheka, who started taking pictures just four years ago, has a philosophical look at his work. “They offer hope and hope derives more strength than despair.”

The pictures have proved a hit with foreigners, who are shocked when they see a different Nairobi from what they have heard or seen in the pictures.

“They look at this city, which is in a third world country. You look at Paris, New York and Dubai and you just want to visit them, but when you get there, of course they are nowhere close to the pictures you saw.”
