But I must say, since devolution, these small towns are booming and becoming cities. Some small towns have everything siku hizi. Malls, gated communities etc. And you can enjoy your life ukiwa out of the big cities. And the government has done well kutengeneza all the roads and street lighting, Kenya generally looks more developed than ever before
Kisii.... I had a breath taking surprise the other day when i visited the young city. It has really grown and matured.

I agree with you kwa kiasi, Kenya and Tz have relatively comparable populations and Kenya's area is approximately half that of tz, for this reason it is more likely to have many towns in Kenya than Tz because of density.
Hata ukipita anga la Kenya usiku u'll realize this, it's different from Ethiopia, Chad and Sudan.

Nimeshindwa kabisa kupata such a list, and I dont think it exists really. Our towns are ranked in terms of population, not in terms of area size or infrastructure. I dont think anybody has ever gone out of their way to assess the towns on those aspects.
My list would go as follows if I were to rank the 5 biggest towns in terms of:
a)Development
1)Nairobi
2)Mombasa
3)Nakuru
4)Kisumu
5)Thika/Eldoret.......would share that spot.
b)Size/area
1)Nairobi
2)Mombasa
3)Kisumu
4)Nakuru
5)Eldoret
