Kwahiyo wewe Israelis

allAfrica.com: Tanzania: Germany Offers Hefty Budget Grant

Germany has extended a grant of 176 million Euros (about 380bn/-) to Tanzania. The funds will cover three years and are the largest amount Germany has ever committed to support Tanzania in its development endeavours.

In line with that, the German Government will also extend a grant contribution of 18 million Euros (28bn/-) to support immunization programmes in Tanzania. The Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Dr Wiliam Mgimwa, and the German Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Klaus-Peter Grandes, signed the bilateral grant agreement in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking shortly after the signing ceremony, Dr Mgimwa said that the agreement, which comes under bilateral development cooperation, will see 18 million Euros going into general budget support for three years. The Public Financial Management Reforms programme will have two million Euros; the Water Sector will get 45 million Euros and the Health sector will be allocated 42.5 million Euros.

He mentioned other programmes as the Energy (26 million Euros), Natural Resources (31.5 million Euros), National Audit Office (3.5 million Euros), Local Governance (6.5 million Euros) and Study and Expert Fund (one million Euros). Dr Mgimwa said that the grant will help implementation of the programmes and contribute significantly to the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty and in turn improve the social economic well-being of the people.

The minister reaffirmed the government's commitment towards implementation of the programmes and projects. He said that close monitoring would be made to ensure the quality of work meets the acceptable professional standards. On his part, Ambassador Klaus-Peter Brandes highlighted the excellent bilateral cooperation between Germany and Tanzania.

"Today we have signed a historic commitment. Over the last five decades, German bilateral cooperation with Tanzania has amounted to almost 1.8 billion Euros. "I am happy to state that today Tanzania counts among the largest beneficiaries of German development cooperation in sub-Saharan Africa," he said.

The ambassador stated further that Germany would continue to work together with Tanzania in order to achieve the common goal of fighting poverty, improving the quality of service delivery for all Tanzanians particularly in remote and rural areas.

Both Governments agreed that the main areas of support for this grant of 190 million Euros covering the period 2012 - 2014 will remain - according to the priorities of the Government of Tanzania - Water, Health, Natural Resources and now, Energy, including Renewable Energies.

In addition, Germany will continue to provide General Budget Support. The German Ambassador emphasized the expected impact of these agreements. "The population of several urban centres in Tanzania will get access to clean water.

Immunization will be accelerated, so that every citizen can be vaccinated. A new Baobab Maternity of the CCBRT in Dar es Salaam will be constructed to improve birth outcomes," he added.

Wadau,

Wakati wa Kampeni za uchaguzi nchini Ujerumani zikiwa zimepamba moto, tumeshuhudia muungano wa vyama kwa misingi ya itikadi za vyama hivyo. CDU cha Angel Merkel ambacho ni cha Kikristo, kinashirikiana na vyama vingine vyenye mrengo wa kikristo kikipambana na vyama vingine vya mrengo wa kati. Ikumbukwe kuwa CDU ndo chama rafiki cha CHADEMA na wamekuwa wakiitumia taasisi ya KAS kutengeneza vyama vibaraka ulimwenguni kote ambavyo vinafuata mrengo wa Kikristo. Kutokana na Katiba ya hapa Tanzania kutoruhusu vyama vya mrengo huo, tumeshuhudia CHADEMA wakitekeleza sera za CDU kwa kificho. kwa CHADEMA kuwa rafiki na chama cha kikristo na kutokana na chama hicho kuwa na mwelekeo wa kupendelea watu wa dini ya kikristo hasa katika kupanga safu ya uongozi na uteuzi wa nafazi za wagombea, je si wakati muafaka sasa wa kukifuta chama hiki? Tujiridhishe jinsi wajerumani wenyewe wanavyoelezea muungano wa vyama hivyo;

Neck-And-Neck Race Ups Grand Coalition Chances

A neck-and-neck race between Chancellor Angela Merkel’s center-right coalition and the center-left opposition parties increases the likelihood of a grand coalition in Germany, according to a poll published Tuesday.

Ahead of Sunday elections, the findings of Forsa institute indicate only two coalitions would have a workable majority.
First, a grand coalition between Ms. Merkel’s Christian Democrats, the Bavarian Christian Social Union sister party and the opposition Social Democrats would get a solid majority to run the next government.
A second possibility would be a coalition between the Christian Democrats and their Christian Social Union partner with the opposition Greens, but this is unlikely due to disagreement on issues like national security and the environment.
In Tuesday’s poll, Ms. Merkel’s present coalition with the pro-business Free Democrats secured 44% in combined support, based on 39% for the Christian Democrats and Christian Social Union, and 5% for the Free Democrats.
The Social Democrats of chancellor candidate Peer Steinbrueck, the Greens and Left party also had 44% in combined support. Of that, the Social Democrats had 25%, the Left party 10% and the Greens 9%.
The apparent stalemate comes as support slipped for Ms. Merkel’s coalition partner, the Free Democrats. At 5%, the party was one percentage point lower than last week, casting doubt on whether election day would see it meet the 5% threshold needed to enter parliament.
The euro-skeptic party Alternative for Germany remained at 3%, but Forsa said it is hard to predict turnout because voters aren’t openly expressing support for the new party.

Give to Caesar what belongs to him. NEVER!!!
