These plate numbers are only issued to high state officials. I wonder if the car RJH drove in episode 2 was owned by his father. Plates with bold red stars before the number series indicate that the cars are owned by even more important Pyongyang bigwigs.
I guess the use of “729” (a number close to 727) is just an indirect reference to this special plate number. Indirect so as to avoid the controversy that it might potentially generate.
