Mwezi February mwaka huu, Serikali ya Tanzania ilisaini hati ya makubaliano (MOU) na Serikali ya Umoja wa Falme za Kiarabu (UAE) kwa ajili ya kutusaidia kuendeleza misitu yote nchini, inayosimamiwa na Wakala wa misitu (TFS). Yani waarabu wanaoishi Jangwani wanatusaidia kuendeleza misitu. Kwanini wasipande misitu kule kwao waondokane na Jangwa?

Nadhani kwenye suala la misitu sisi ndio tulitakiwa tuwasaidie waarabu sio wao watusaidie sisi. Sisi tuna misitu ya asili na misitu ya kupanda. Tuna mapori ya akiba na mapori tengefu. Tuna misitu ya mvua (Rain forest) misitu ya minene (tropical thick forest), na misitu hafifu (broadleaf forest). Yani kwa kifupi kuhusu misitu, mapori na masuala ya miti na utunzaji wake, hakuna wa kutuambia kitu. Tupo vizuri.

Waarabu wao ndio wanatakiwa waje wajifunze hapa kwetu kuhusu misitu. Na sisi ndio tunapaswa tuwasaidie ili waweze kuwa na misitu kule kwao au hata mapori ya akiba. Lakini eti wao ndio wanatusaidia sisi kuendeleza misitu? Yani watu wasio na msitu hata mmoja wana kipi cha kutusaidia sisi ambao tuna misitu na mapori kila wilaya? Hii ndio mara ya kwanza nasikia Mzaramo anataka kumfundisha Mmasai kuhusu ufugaji wa ngombe. Apaaa ndenga.

UAE, Tanzania sign MoU on promoting forest conservation​

Blue Carbon UAE based entity and the Government of Tanzania through Tanzanian Forest Services Agency (TFS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding marking the start of a collaboration aimed at promoting sustainable forest management practices and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Dubai under the chairmaship of King Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum.

Dr. Jafo has said this is the first time for such an agreement after the Vice President’s Office in collaboration with various stakeholders completed the preparation of guidelines for the carbon trade in October 2022.

He said that the signing of the agreement will open the doors for citizens to plant trees in abundance and take care of the environment so that they can enter the business.

"It is our belief that we will now rely on having many opportunities as well as restoring the damaged environment and we see that even mangroves are also entering the carbon market, so TFS will now have a wide field to ensure that our forests are protected," he said.

Speaking during the signing ceremony of the agreement, the King Al Maktoum who accompanied his dellegation said the partnership will focus on supporting the government's efforts to conserve, manage and register its forest resources of 8 million hectares in first phase 1 including 56,000 hectares of mangroves and sell these credits under Article 6 of the the Paris Agreement.

This will strengthen the partnership between the two countries, in developing new carbon offset projects to support decarbonization targets.

Commenting on the visit, Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum, the Founder and the Chairman of Blue Carbon said, “We are honored to sign this MoU with the Government of Tanzania. This collaboration represents an important step towards promoting sustainable forest management practices and fighting the climate change.”
On his part, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism Ambassador Dr. Pindi Chana has called on the people to ensure that they plant mit in abundance especially during this rainy season so that it can grow and enter the carbon business.

She said that our country has been blessed with an area of approximately 48.1 million hectares with forests that have been very beneficial to its citizens in their daily lives.

"If we take care of our forests, we will get many benefits because we see that water sources depend on forests, many sectors depend on trees such as agriculture, health, construction, sanitation, so it is important to protect and preserve forests," she emphasized.

And the Conservation Commissioner for TFS Prof. Dos Santos Silayo has said that the time has come for developed countries to contribute to countries that continue to reduce greenhouse gases.

He said that the signing of the agreement with Blue Carbon is the beginning of the implementation of these activities where the company will start the registration process to comply with the instructions.

Prof. Silayo has given inspiration to developing countries to prioritize the preservation of forests in order to lay the foundation for areas that can focus on carbon trading, which has become an alternative to economic activities at the moment.

Waarabu pesa wanayo angalieni kufuturu wanayofanya sasa hivi kwa wachezaji wa ulaya, pia inaonekana Kuna mpunga mrefu sana ulimwagwa wakati wa kuwaamisha wakazi wa loliondo serikali ya Tanzania haina uwezo wa kufanya jambo kama like kwa pesa zake lazima waarabu walitoa fungu zito.

Kwa taarifa yenu Waarabu wana elimu na rasilimali za kutosha katika eneo la udhibiti na uendelezaji wa rasilimali ikiwemo misitu. Waarabu na Waisraeli wapo kwenye mikakati kabambe ya kulibadilisha jangwa kuwa eneo la kijani na mipango hiyo wameianza kitambo. Hata hawa wanyama wanaowachukua huku wanawapeleka kwenye mbuga walizozitengeneza. Wana maji ya kutosha kule jangwani wanayoyatumia kwenye kilimo na mambo mengine. Msiwachukulie poa kabisa eti mkadhani mpo nao levo moja.
 
Ingekuwa wamepewa Waisraeli ambao nao wako jangwani tusingehoji. Hii nchi ina ubaguzi na udini wa hatari sana.

Hebu hesabu na mikataba tuliyosaini na Wazungu toka uhuru halafu linganisha na hiyo ya Waarabu inayowatoa macho halafu niambie mikataba yetu na Wazungu imetunufaisha nini toka uhuru. Kuna mwaka alipofika Rais wa China hapa nchini tulisaini mikataba karibu ishirini ndani ya siku moja tu lakini hatukusikia hizi kelele. Acheni udini na chuki.
