There's a big difference between economic growth and economic development. What most countries in Africa and other parts of the world are going through is economic growth . Growth in numbers .Growth in data .Growth in production of Goods and services without taking into account the population's betterment in a number of factors I.e per capita ,mortality rate ,infant mortality rate ,unemployment rate,inflation rate ,infrastructural development, standard of living ,healthcare status etc . Economic development on the other hand means economic growth goes hand in hand with these economic indicators in a compatible manner not antagonistically or inversely. Meaning that the population advances with increased economic growth .

We fail to enjoy economic development because of factors such as corruption ,lack of priorities in government spending,political instabilities, skyrocketing government debts,increasing inflation rates and dependence on foreign aids .

Net worth is different from GDP. GDP is the value of what's produced in a country per year thus Bill Gates GDP is practically his company's revenue. Net worth is the total value of your wealth. Tanzania's Networth is thus way bigger than even the USA's GDP because it is the total worth of everything within Tanzania's boundaries including its land, minerals, structures, money, companies etc.
